I think we missed him big time yesterday. I would have still started Eze based on form, but Odegaard would have been a better option than Havertz and Gyokeres in the absence of Eze.

He’d have shit himself yesterday. Glad he wasn’t in the mix. Be nice to have him for Southampton so we can rest players for the Etihad.
Odegaard is just a hard worker at this point, with a bit of quality. What he’s best at doing is recycling the ball, without advancing it. And he’s lightweight. Would he have really made a difference?
I get people being upset with his availability and him not hitting the sky high levels from 2 years ago but I think his quality is seriously getting underplayed now.
We’ve seen him in games this season where he came on and it had an immediate effect on our fluidity going forward like against Villa, Newcastle and Brentford.
We’ve also seen him shine from the start like against Brighton and Villa again.
Not saying he’s our saviour and I think the next year or so will be important for his future, but you can’t deny that our season would’ve been even better had he been available.

His quality and ability to help us keep the ball and move up in the pitch in possession has never really been in question. What’s happened over the last 18 months is that his final third contribution and decisiveness have dried up.
The irony is that we didn’t miss his final third contribution on Sunday, we missed his ability to help us maintain possession, move up the pitch, and control matches. Yet there are people still shitting on him and saying he wouldn’t have made a difference? That’s madness.
Could be coincidental but his numbers considering how little he played are the best in some time.
1 goal and 6 assists in just 1000 minutes in the PL this season.
I’m not sure he would have hit the same numbers as 22-24 but I think he was primed a for a really good season had it not been for injuries.
