Martin Ødegaard (c) (8)

Let’s hope the tifo is better than our last attempt

Yep. Encouraging to have him near full fitness :+1:

Even if he’s just on the bench it will be bonus.

Knowing us this bit will be the TIFO :smiling_face_with_tear:

I have totally erased that “Tifo”, that “coreography” we had vs PSG last yeah… Had to google it now and I’m laughing my ass off

Someone just enlarged their shower curtain :arteta:

Even by those standards it looked as one of the cheap one’s :arteta:

The club should ban this stuff.

We can’t do worse now.

Surely??

Surely? :arteta:

Just have “Spurs are shit” written in large letters, and that can be our tifo for the NLD

Very promising cameo. Missed him a lot. Needs to stay fit now.

When he just got on, and I wanted that sub to be made, I was so happy to see him on the pitch after a long time.

And then when I saw a couple of his first moves I wasn’t so happy. :xhaka:
Hate those million extra touches he makes. He’s a hard hard player to watch when he’s not in that full flow (and he hasn’t been there since 2023/24).

Eze creates more with 2 touches per half than he does with 178.

Yeah, he’s just coming back from the injury but this performance doesn’t make me miss him at all.
Not refering to this game, but more to the way he played the whole last year… if he doesn’t up his game, our captain might really lose his spot in the starting XI eventually.

Not Odegaard’s biggest fan but he’s a good option to have. Not a player you want in a scrap but coming on against ten, he’s perfect.

I know the guy is just coming back from injury. I’m trying to not be knee jerk here but as the captain of an elite team you have to be more impactful.

It feels like we’ve seen the best of Ødegaard. He’s falling into a group of players like Ben White and Jesus who seem to be falling further and further away from the standards of the rest of the squad.

A team of this caliber needs better than Ødegaard has offered in the past two seasons.

Where is this coming from? He’s been injured for most of the season. For whatever he’s played he has actually looked good.

I’m not sure he looked that good tbh. Granted he is just coming back from injury however, he is nowhere near his best and hasn’t been for some time.

In those tough games, I never feel like Odegaard will be the guy to win us the game. He’s our captain.

He had a bit of an impact today so to my comments aren’t really about the Chelsea game- more in general.

I think he looked very sluggish in his movements tbh, looked good on the ball despite a few off passes, but his running and movement reminded me of Gyokeres first 5 games.

Needs to get his fitness back up.

I thought he was average at very best. Bro needs to speed his shit up, spends too much time on the ball at times and today we really needed to speed the game up.

The only positive is he got some minutes and got through them unscathed.

The cameo was nothing to write home about at all

Wasn’t expecting so much since he’s just returned from injury, however, it looked like the kind of game he was having for fun last season until the league was gone and then he had a good spell to end the season.

Lets not forget how he’s performed overall in the last 12 months, he really needs to raise his game

@KITN I hope it’s not the case but I can see what you mean about him perhaps peaking as a player maybe under Arteta anyway, it just doesn’t seem the same from the highs he hit in 22/23 and 23/24 the latter of which I think was his best season for us to date. There’s been a clear regression in his game IMO

The fact that he’s been injured so frequently is more cause for concern, not necessarily an excuse.

He hasn’t been decisive in the way say Gabriel, Rice or even Trossard has been. For the captain and our supposed main creative outlet what he offers feels like it’s not enough for this team.

It looks like he’s just returned from a … lengthy injury.

He’s a great player to have in the squad but we haven’t missed him as much as we thought we might, so is he a guaranteed starter?
