For me cos I remember the past:
Bergkamp
Brady
Fabregas
And yet fabregas wasn’t even one.
Ok he moved forward and played a bit more like one but he was a DLP.
that’s true actually. I think he can play both as an #8 and a #10 perfectly well tbh.
We’d all be blind without our eyes
Not if you stay WOKE bruv.
Then you become mentally blind
I think Odegaard suffers from modern system-ball which is not suitable for players to truly express themselves.
He is so creative & elegant in tactical tight system. Imagine him if he was allowed to express himself like Cesc & Ozil.
Nahh, no way he’s close to Cesc.
Cesc simply saw EVERYTHING, and was throwing chances out of his pocket left and right like nothing. Not to mention his passing range was far superior.
From the Arsenal players I saw it’s:
- Bergkamp
- Cesc
- Pires/Van Persie
- Ozil
- Arshavin/Partey
Cesc may have been a better long range passer but Ozil for me was above in shorter and intermediate passing.
In either case I can’t buy him not being close to Cesc as a passer, nah
- Bergkamp
- Cesc
- Ozil
My God, these 3 were special players.
Crazy how Bergkamp is so underrated by the world football media and casual football fans, when he’s arguably one of the best to have played the game.
Not even there imo.
Cesc’s eye for a pass/run was better/quicker. Even as a 10, playing higher up the pitch, his was catching all those movements in the final third.
Most od Ozil’s chances and “creating passes” were easier to spot, more obvious imo (compared to Cesc, not to an regular passser of course).
Few will agree with me, but I definitely thinkt Van Persie had a better “killer pass” and the eye for that final run than Ozil too. Was more pronounced in his earlier years where he played as a second striker. One of the players who was born with with that special ability.
What you’re saying is what Ozil was all about, Ozil’s vision was otherwordly
Agree to disagree, because we’ll be going round in circles otherwise lol
And yeah no way did RVP have a better eye for a killer pass than Ozil, he’s not even in the same realm as those guys as a passer
Think we’re gonna have to start pulling up the YouTube clips guys hehe, some have forgotten just how godly Ozil really was in his RM/Arsenal days
WTF???
I did not join the conversation because it is just personal preference.
But when I see this… I am irritated.
We need the football season to start asap.
I’m only recently (just over a year) into the Odegaard is definitely better than Maddison camp! It’s way too early for him to enter the Ozil and Cesc chat.
Very confident that he lifts something this season as our star player and captain.
I just wonder what Arteta talked to Ode to make a skill player like him to work his ass off for almost every single game.
