Liverpool

Add to the incredible amounts they’ve spent they’ve potential to be in the shit for a couple of years because as much as they like to make people believe, they’re absolutely not living off that Coutinho money anymore

Best premier league defender ever. Worth it.

Liverpool paying those sort of wages to old players who are way past their best, as well as spending 400m on mainly attacking players while ignoring a defence that has gaping holes everywhere, might make their title win the most expensive ever in the PL.

Virgil and Mo wouldn’t be a problem if they addressed their problems with some sort of plan in the summer.

Money clearly wasn’t a issue, they spent like maniacs (pun intended) in the summer and not only did they keep their squad unbalanced, they arguably made it worse.

Which Saudi club will come to their rescue? Wow, didn’t realize that they were on such expensive contracts. Think both might be gone next season and they’ll get some of that sweet Saudi cash to rebuild (sadly).

There will be interest for sure, especially Salah. The issue is that the Saudi teams aren’t as desperate as they used to be, especially for these older guys.
They’ve been passing up on Ramos multiple times now, they weren’t very interested in De Bruyne and Lukaku either despite both admitting they’d be open to a move there.

They’re more willing to pay the big bucks for promising talents or players in their prime.

Salah definitely missed a trick last summer. The Saudis were desperate to go into the Club World Cup with a star signing and I reckon they would’ve made him the highest paid player in the world not named Ronaldo.

I doubt the same money will be on the table in the upcoming summer. Certainly not now that a transfer fee is needed.

I honestly think Salah may just see his contract out and take all the money for himself and his agent. It lines up well with Ronaldo most likely hanging up the boots in 2027.

Agree with the post and this part makes sense. However, some $ is better than none. They’ll need some transfer fees in order to sign any real quality surely.
I hope it is a mess for them and they struggle through the bad moves they made this summer for a while.

Sorry to rain on the parade but Isak and Wirtz aren’t gonna stay shit forever. Ekitike also looked a decent buy.

Once they buy a couple of defenders their whole team will look more solid again. My first move would be sacking slot though.

Back line needs an overhaul, and that’s with signings like Frimpong and Kerkez in mind too. They probably need another CM (Slot wanted Zubimendi) Mac Alistair is lightweight.

I think they have big problems and have spent the money wrong. No doubt the Isak/Ekitike/Wirtz transfers will come good but spending that money, that should be instant success. Shame on them.

He will need to humble himself and work harder at his craft. He’s got some natural talent and a wicked left foot but is did tens of talented youngsters before him that shone brightly early on and then fizzled out as defenses figured them out. Taraabt was a far better dribbler , Di-maria, was head and shoulders above him skill wise. I still think he and Musiala are the best of this current generation at the moment.

They absolutely didn’t need Isak. Etieke and a decent cheap back up was better then buy a CB

Liverpool spent big on the sort of players that should be icing on the cake.
But what they forgot was, they had no cake.

I remember Arsene mentioning this many weeks ago. Sounds like he was told that information on good authority.

Wirtz is certainly daft to prioritise that and Slot/Liverpool are pathetic for bending over like that.

This makes their decision to sign both Gakpo and Isak look even worse.

As a loyal Liverpool fan, I’m glad to be here and happy to contribute. :face_savoring_food:

Must be pretty awkward being in a rival’s forum.

We used to have quite a few people on here from other teams. Couple United supporters, a Chelsea one and a Thierry Henry fan who was so loyal to him that wherever he went that was his team lol
