Yes, but usually weaknesses can be exploited by rival managers, so if you play united there is a legitimate case to try to play the long balls where he is positioned

I think @SRCJJ kinda answered it. It could be argued Azpi was one. But I think the issue here is how many short CBs have actually played in the PL?
I have a hard time thinking of any.
What are we considering a ‘Short’ CB? Because it might apply to Kolo Toure.

If we can’t come up with any more examples than the pretty short and unimpressive list produced so far, then it’s valid to at least wonder if a CB as short as him will thrive in this league.
Which shouldn’t be construed as me saying he won’t, I’ve never seen the bloke play and had never heard of him til reports suggested we’d bid on him.

William ‘Sulking’ Gallas also wasn’t 6 ft (Barely).
Sagna played a few games as CB for us and did ok. Gallas wasn’t that tall either.
Sagna had an unbelievable leap btw.

I suppose the difficulty here is: what constitutes “short”?
You have to draw a line somewhere, but it’s fairly arbitrary, and where the line is drawn will drastically affect the list of CBs we can come up with.
I believe average male height these days is 5’11"?! If so, I think a short CB has to be 5’10" or shorter.

Martinez is 5’9, some places it says 5’10, Kolo was 6 foot, maybe close to 6’1. Hardly “an inch taller”.
Ffs Kolo is never a short CB, not even by PL standards. Decent height, ridiculous strength and leap, he was a beast in the air.
