Which signing takes the cake for Arseneās worst signing in the Emirates era?
Yeah, same.
Suarez is the only player who still gives me a moment of hesitation, God-like as he was, but I think even signing him wouldnāt have meant a league title.
Mustafi
Andre Santos made me feel like I was good enough to play for Arsenal.
Mustafi made me feel this the most. It is so easy to screw up every situation and point at other players and play dumb whilst huffing and blaming and sulking. Give me £100k a week for that i would be sooooo happy.
Mustafi was the ākeyā player that gave us the 20 (or 22?) game unbeaten streak.
Santos was just a part time playerā¦
Edu had BBQs at home, probably Santos had BBQ in Emirates Stadiumā¦
Andre Santos was an alright footballer.
People hate him needlessly.
There were much worse players in our books.
Start of Emirates Era until that CL matchup:
Arsenal vs United
3 Wins
1 Draw
2 Losses
Very reasonable record, effectively even. This was with some of Unitedās better teams as well before the old guard was washed.
Post CL Matchup (Until Fergusonās Retirement):
1 Wins
2 Draw
7 Losses
Christ alive, I wish I didnāt check.
Do you know he played a season in the Indian Super League?
Ha, no I didnt
Lol, I think he played for some Boa team. I remember Lucio and Pires also passed from there.
Edit: Itās FC Goa and oh my days, they actually played together.
Good to see an Arsenal connection with Goa
Thereās plenty to choose from Kallstrom deserves a mention, although signing Chamakh, Park, Gervinho, after saying heād only buy āsuper qualityā was frustrating.
But spending record amounts on Mustafi, Xhaka and Perez, in the same window, is hard to beat.
Yeah, I donāt normally watch the ISL, as itās called here, but I remember watching a few games that season, just for Bobby & Freddie. The other notable names that played are Elano, David James, Del Piero, Berbatov, Forlam and Trezeguet.
Silvestre tops most of those names.
Senderos.
In what way has Messi made America a better place?
