Yeah we’ve been spoilt with FA cups. My in law’s always go on about how Arsenal robbed them in the cup final in 2003 - I don’t remember that shit. But that was probably Southampton’s only final in the past 20 years.
Well maybe you’re right. It’s just the difference CL finances bring to the club.
If they finish 5th after having such a lead with an FA Cup, they should still feel somewhat cucked (I hate that term but I can’t think of a better word to describe how finishing 5th should feel for them).
Exasperated
They really choked ffs.
Not surprised tbf.
Gonna be tough next season for them. They need depth. EL got tougher as well.
Reckon they fall out of Top 6.
Now that we’re missing out on Europe next year I can fully see the traditional big 6 finish next year no more imposters
Fuck off, bunch of absolute chokers
Don’t see anyone breaking this top 4 again next season.
Liverpool and Chelsea 3 and 4 after poor seasons.
5th and FA Cup is still a great season for them
Fans got their memory
Honestly Europa league spots wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t so transparent they’ll doing nothing in the competition. They lost to those bums known as Slavia Prague.
Same with West Ham, Europe should be awesome for them. But watch 'em make zero impact.
Winning the FA Cup is massive for them to be fair, but definitely feels as if this is the best they will get under Rodgers.
No real excuse for missing out on top four considering where they were though
Rodgers job shouldn’t even be questioned. Despite another huge disappointment he’s doing an outstanding job.
I’d say injuries and a bad run in played a part. If we had Chelsea and Spurs as our last 2 games and we needed something from them, I don’t think we’re faring much better.
I can still see clear signs of progress at Leicester though. An FA Cup and only 4 games lost in the league since Feb? Better than they were last season but only marginally
They’ve got alot better but the owner has to invest the money the club have earned in this time back into the squad.
Next season could very well be predictable. City Pool Chelsea utd are all going to improve their squads massively. Leicester will find their place top 8 if they continue only slightly improving the squad and selling their best players.
I think Vardy completely falling off the face of the earth had the biggest impact. I don’t think he has much to give anymore. I’m not sure how but they need a top forward that can lead the line and that’s a tough market right now. Not 100% sold on Iheanacho despite his decent form.
True. They’ve found some real gems in their youth system in Luke Thomas, James Justin and Harvey Barnes. Heck, even Choudry isn’t too bad. (3 of those 4 are local lads from Leicestershire)
It’s a shame losing out on CL football but, in the grand scheme of things, a successful season for them.
I think the owners get a little too much praise at times.
They get some good deals but ever since the title win they don’t invest that little bit more that they should.
Let a lot of this squad grow old and need to get a little more ruthless now.
There well in the mix for top 6 now and left teams like Everton and West Ham behind. Just need a bit more depth.
They’ve invested plenty mate. But people kind of ignore a lot simply doesn’t work out too. Slimani, Preat, Adrien Silva, Iborra, Ghezzal etc.
Okay too clarify better and pricier players.
Yeah they haven’t really invested fuck all. Last 5 years 20 mil net spend a season on average. They’ve made the all the money they’re spent. Probably more.
Leicester city have done well but for some reason so many people wanna hate on them lol. Its truly bizarre.
I heard this on a Man City forum as well after the FA Cup win.
“I’ve worked in Leicester. It’s a shithole”
