That’s going to be the media stereotype for all American coaches for a while but I think at least in this case there is some legitimacy to it.
He is a super intense personality and some of that intense positivity in interviews which I think irritates British sports writers who think soccer is a very serious business. I encourage you to check out a team talk he gave to Salzburg that was recorded. It’s the kind of thing that people might call “cringe” these days but I don’t mind him much.
