Leandro Trossard (19)

We really shouldn’t. Eze will not perform for us on the left - work rate is nowhere near the level demanded of that position in this team

Arteta hasn’t gone back to it in any meaningful match since he gave up the runner for the goal at Villa. He hasn’t looked natural on the ball for me either when we’ve seen him there. I think Eze is clearly an 8 or 10 and that’s it.

Yeah. Gegenpressing and tracking back. It’s all about that. :+1: Safety first.

Tross wasn’t very good, but he’s always a scoring threat. Had a decent chance on Wednesday but scuffed it. Reckon he’s still got another big moment in him this year.

He’s not really suited to either in our system though. Those roles both have to work hard off the ball and play a big role in our buildup.

As I said in another thread, Eze is the type of player who needs the ball to come to him in space/transition.

Annoying thing is I do think he has the skills to link play to a decent level.

Someone mentioned him playing up front for us which honestly isn’t that crazy.

He reminds me of the weird type of players that came out of Hale End; Iwobi, ESR, Reiss-Nelson that are clearly talented, technically sound players however, are more of an all-rounder type player rather than a specialist as a CAM or a Left-Winger etc.

On Trossard, is his contract up in the summer?

I was a big fan of the idea of signing him, a fan of the idea of keeping him when the bids were coming in but goodness me he definitely needs to be moved on this summer. It’s been months of utter garbage every single time he’s on the pitch.

Not desperate to sell him but he is replaceable. Has been a fantastic signing for us regardless. Still feel as though he’s got another big goal in him before the end of the season.

First half of the season he was fantastic tbh but has really dropped away lately in terms of performance and G/ A production, don’t think he has found the net since Villa late December.

Please find that Aug to Dec form for the run in Leo.

Thought he was better against Leverkusen than he has been in his previous run of form. Could have easily had a goal too. Good timing fella and great work on giving the Portuguese rat a red card in the Madrid-City game too.

Thanks for the memories bud, fantastic first half of the season but it’s over.

My advice to Leo, cash in while you can, pick one between Turkey or Saudi and call it a day.

He was useless today as a substitute. Becoming very frustrating to watch.

First half of the season he was great. Second half complete shit…why?

Invincibles era were masters of this?

Maybe because Highbury was so small and the rest of the league less organised

:skull_and_crossbones: dead footballer

Since the start of 2026 he’s played 21 games, scored 0 goals and got 2 assists….

Maybe hyperbole but for me he’s the player I least trust right now. If he starts, the only guarantee is he’s being taken off. If he comes on my faith is basically zero in him doing something.

His lack of speed for a wide player always shows now. His one thing was coming inside and twisting and turning and making a yard and that seems to have gone on the whole. He seems to lose the ball a lot too and not just when taking risks but basic stuff when he’s just trying to keep the ball.

With some players you can say it’s form or mentality or whatever but with him I’m really worried that he’s just done unless he’s carrying a serious injury.

Watching him this year feels uncomfortably like watching the final months of Alexis where he ended up getting tackled trying to twist away from players.
