I do agree that he was active and was popping up all over the pitch but he wasn’t his usual sharp/efficient self offensively.
Tbf to him, he’s carried us quite a bit in that front this season. About time the players around him did that.
I agree with @Mercenary that it was one of his poorer games. Agree with you that he was popping up all over the place, but thought he really lacked any end product today. Seemed off his game. Fortunately, didn’t cost us.

That was such a frustrating moment…
But an even bigger issue for me is that this seems to happen way too often to all our attacking players. When we want to play it fast and direct we tend to make so many basic mistakes in such simple situations.
Not saying it’s easy, but I think players at this level, playing for a team competing for the PL title, should really do better there.
It’s like… Our players just aren’t used to play it fast and direct and when they get a chance to do it they are way too insecure.
A team with a good attack would have scored at least a couple of goals in that period between 1:0 and 1:1 were they looked so vulerable and all over the place.
We weren’t playing against a great defence today btw. We made all of this harder than it should have been.
I think that team we faced in that away game, under Mareaca, was much better than the one we faced today.

In my two decades supporting this club, I don’t ever recall us being good at counter attacks/transitions and it’s always drove me mad. I think this is an issue that goes way back to previous teams and managers, for whatever reasons we’ve always struggled with this and even when we’ve had certain players in the side who were more suited to playing that way it’s been an issue.
He’s been ass for the past few weeks or so. Doesn’t help when Martinelli isn’t any better either.

Spite alone usually means he’s puts in a performance against Brighton but nothing is working for him right now.
He was essential at the start of the season but his time here may be just about up.

Wr should try Eze on the left when Ode is back (or with Kai as a 10), or Saka (as a LW) and Madueke on the wings.
He looks completely washed at this point.

I thought his cameo yesterday was actually decent or it just might be that Martinelli was so bad that the slightest improvement made Trossard looks decent in my eyes.
