Its obviously his skill and technical ability that make him special but he is also kind of a physical freak to be playing this much football at such a consistent level at 17. He logged close to 4500 minutes this year, which is an insane number that I’d be kind of worried about if I were a Barca fan. But compare that to players like Nwaneri or Mainoo who clearly just don’t have the bodies and engine yet to play an intense 90 minutes every week over and over again against full grown men.

Another obvious comparison is Messi: He didn’t play over 3000 minutes in a season until he was 21.

Lol so now we gonna base our assessments off some fisherman who plays for Villarreal? I can’t take this gueye seriously.

Agreed.

Not a big deal but some professionalism should be expected

It’s one of these things that people might roll their eyes at but anyone who wears their hat like that in a professional setting needs to be pulled up on it, and age isn’t relevant at all.

Guy kicks a ball and wears tracksuits for a living. However he chooses to wear a hat is fine.

That same profession expects him to put on a club uniform, cut his nails, not have piercing, not wear a cap when he steps on the field.
Press conference is just another avenue where he needs to maintain that. Rest of the time he can do whatever.

Anyone who thinks this matters is a bit of a melt tbh.

Unless it’s in his contract that he has to dress a certain way, then he is free to dress how he wants.

He could attend press conferences in pink Spandex and a cowboy hat for all I care.

He’s just a kid. Shall we compare photos of ourselves when we were his age?

I thought not.

I’ll whip out my photos of me wearing terrible shellsuits

I have evidence of similar crimes from my photo albums.

Unprofessional seems a reach, but I always thought the backwards cap style always looked silly. Like you’re Ash Ketchum about to send out Pikachu into battle.

Might be worthy of a thread of it’s own, where we all show our fashion crimes :stuck_out_tongue:

Guti is the one to comment on someone’s behaviour lol :sol:

Surely one of the most talented Spain midfielders of that era (easily as talented as Xavi or Xabi) but didn’t reach his potential precisely because of his shit attitude. Also, had shitty haircuts. And tattoos.

Couldn’t recognise him on that pic btw until I read the text lol

I see no issue in a 17 year old wearing a fucking cap, the criticism is ridiculous.

Also, I like those double glasses he rocks

Outrageous!

Such a wankers thing to be bothered about. Genuinely just another case of older generation having a problem with younger generation stuff.

A tale as old as time.

Kids, don’t grow up to be Guti.
