La Liga

I won’t put it past them to bottle the La Liga yet so you have some hope left.

Treble on for Barca

I hope we beat PSG and get Barca in the final. They need to be humbled, I didn’t think they were very good last night.

The idea of facing Barcelona in another CL final after the shafting in 2006.

I think Barcelona would be the easier opponent they are so open to conceding and play the perfect brand of football for Arteta’s ultra obsessive brand of control ball.

They play the kind of football that allows you to exploit the spaces in a way that I bet Arteta dreams of.

Inter have a very varied approach to the game but a top tier tactician like Inzaghi knows that we don’t have the kind of players and system that would easily break down his back line and they have a very good midfield too.

As I’ve said elsewhere I think Inter are the only team we’ve played that I think looked better than us. Not to say we can’t beat them but much like the group game it’d be very hard to create against them.

Yeah I honestly can’t see us scoring against Inter, and it’s no slight against us. They’re just incredibly solid and pragmatic to the nth degree.

Maybe from a cheeky setpiece. Alas, we have to get past PSG first

Conceded more in Seire A than we have in the PL though

(Scored more too)

True, though their defence in the UCL is very scary. Then again, so is ours.

Form won’t mean anything in a CL final.

Didn’t we have the best defence in CL til we got robbed by that pen against them?

Anyway I’ve already dreamt twice this week that we lose in the final to inter so let’s hope Barca win.

Absolutely not, there was a time he looked like he would be the better of the two despite being around 18 at the time. Gave me such wilshere vibes but with better finishing.

Played almost every game before his injury and actually was Pedri the one looking to have recurring issues.

In the mean time one had an ACL and the other kicked on well, so I’d say it’s clear in Pedri’s favour now but Gavi still has that 2 years gap to catch up if the acl doesn’t affect him.

Btw, if Barca win the treble, then a player of theirs will certainly get the Ballon d’Or. In fact, the podium might consist of only Barca players between Yamal, Raphinha and Pedri.
To think Yamal could win it at 18. Fucking hell, Barca did it again…

Don’t think he ever looked to be better than Pedri, nah man lol

Think it was 22/23 season he looked like he would surpass him given the age and trajectory. Pedri was facing injuries and not playing as much while Gavi rising and playing almost every game.

Looked like he would go on to be better, most people will just say look at Pedri now so it’s not worth the argument. I’ll gladly take Gavi if he comes free, especially since Pedri and Vitinha never will🙂

ManU is literally cursed. Wouldn’t be surprised if Hojlund start banging 30 goals a season in his next club.

I don’t know anymore. Knew he was nowhere near as bad as it seemed at Man Utd but never expected him to make such an impact at Betis. May end up helping them secure a CL spot and potentially win the ECL too.

Not surprised with his good performances there.

Had a lot of great moments at United, it’s just that his every bad one got highlighted so much (because of his price and expectations) people forgot and overlooked this guy still had a very dangerous skillset in him all the while.

Obviously also lost some flow and confidence while not playing regularly but was never anywhere near as bad as it was made to be.

You’re suggesting we should try? :trossard:

Seriously though, while I wouldn’t want him here because I don’t think we have enough time to rehabilitate him, I wouldn’t be surprised if he does manage to have a very good career of he finds the right club and the manager and settles somewhere.
He does have some obvious great raw qualities but isn’t able to put it all together for most of the time. Some injuries aren’t helping either.
I still see far more potential in him than in Sesko.

The ratio of good to bad is very heavily tilted towards the latter wouldn’t you say?
