La Liga

Really tough though. Cafu has him on the defensive side, they had equal longevity and were both incredible successful.

I’d say Cafu followed by Alves but wouldn’t be angry if someone put Alves at one.

Being able to win a Scudetto with Roma just edges it for me

He got ruined by Bale but always liked Maicon as well.

Carlos Alberto
Cafu
Dani Alves
Djalma Santos

I like Lahm more than anyone but Alves brings so much more in attacking sense.

I was gonna trhow Lahm in there, rather have him in a side than the rest but not mad at calling any of them goat tbh

I always thought Lahm played as a LB, though, as opposed to right?

Besides Ashley Cole > Lahm

In my lifetime I’d say;

Lahm
Zanetti
Cafu
Dani Alves

Would be the best 4 right backs that I’ve seen.

How about left backs?

Barcelona are getting a champions league place, despite all the troubles they currently sit 4th.

Obviously Maldini first then…

Roberto Carlos
Ashley Cole
Marcelo (despite his lack of defensive ability)

Any current players that could realistically challenge either list?

Trent, Hakimi.

The two best RBs right now

At the start of his career, he did and it allowed him to score some good out of box goals.

Ashley Cole stands comparison with any left back in his career.
Good enough for any team in the world at his peak.

Most definitely. Incredible left back.

Atletico game looks bonkers 3-3 with 30 mins left and they’re down to 10 men.

Real Madrid feeling the wrath of no Karim Benzema

Bit of a weird season in La Liga tbh. Would love Sevilla to do it, but it feels like Madrid have enough quality to get over the line.

Can’t say it’s been too enjoyable as I’ve largely tuned out aside from following Betis as they always provide a good watch. I do think Madrid and Barca will be at a much higher level next year though, so hoping it becomes a bit more of a joy to watch again. Albeit last weeks game between Atleti and Barca was very entertaining

Atletico have conceded 33 League goals already, highest ever since Simeone arrived at Atletico.

This is how it compared to every season since Simeone arrived:

2012/13: 31
2013/14: 26
2014/15: 29
2015/16: 18
2016/17: 27
2017/18: 22
2018/19: 29
2019/20: 27
2020/21: 25

Sad title defence.
