Harry Kane has tons of those.
Surprisingly, hasn’t done one in the PL since 2017.
But Mbappe was on the losing side, unlike Hurst who also scored a hat trick to win the World Cup and who’s not on anyone’s list of best players.
That’s my argument and I’m sticking to it.

Think it’s silly he spent so long at PSG anyway tbh with you. I get the money aspect but the type of player he is your career at the top isn’t going to be as long as players with a more rounded game. As exceptional as he is, his speed is a huge part of his talent and that won’t last long with the amount of football he’s played already at such a young age.

For all his talent and feats at times, there’s probably more bad moments than good moments in recent years.
Losing a one-horse race in Ligue 1 against a broke Lille and never managing to carry PSG to European glory hurts his credibility.
He was a ghost in 2020 when PSG got to the final, Neymar was arguably the better performer.
In 2021 he failed to make an impact against City.
The past two years he’s been knocked out in the last 16 back-to-back despite having the greatest playmaker(among other things) of all-time playing with him.
Easy to blame PSG for everything but truth be told, he chose to be there and it’s not like he’s been playing with 10 bums in that field.
Haaland has actually done more than him at club level and he’s younger. I think he is genuinely the best player in the world, has been for some time, but he wasted the last couple of years.

You’re saying that like he won’t evolve his game as he ages. Messi is hardly the same guy he was in 2010, same w Ronaldo.

Don’t see it personally. Think he’ll burn out from all the football he’s played. Not to say it isn’t possible given how talented he is. I just don’t envisage it atm

I just don’t think he has the mentality to match Ronaldo and messi levels.
Talent wise sure and he’s no clown, making a shit load of money is also part of it, but he’s wasted far too long in ligue 1 now.
The move from Monaco was weird as it happened, but a couple of years to try and make PSG CL winners, you could rationalise that and make a case for it. Now it’s just dragging on and wasting his peak years.

Don’t even think it’s the problem with adapting, I don’t think he desires to be #1 that much. He originally was trying to get to Madrid until PSG gave him ridiculous terms even though it was blatantly obvious it was not going to happen at that club and again I stress, he’s not even loyal to the club, it told me a lot about him there.
Haaland won’t take long to surpass him. It’s a shame because I remember him breaking through at Monaco and shining with the bright lights in the CL on him. Neymar another one that joined PSG and it was a waste of time.
