Surely that should mean Deschamps gets the boot soon?
About time too. Zidane has been waiting for this job for so long.
This guy is never happy
France made Mbappe captain, pissing off Griezmann which led to him retiring because he it overlooked.
I hope Mbappe doesn’t play on the World Cup in 26. Then it might be a meaningful absence.
Apparently it isn’t just Mbappe that’s unhappy with Deschamps and they are waiting for Zidane.
I liked it better when football was about football.
Swear it feels like these days it’s more about egos and social media. Game’s gone ![]()

Have only just seen his goal from yesterday. He’s in outrageous form at the minute.
He’s scored in all but one game(for both club and country) so far this season.
Another player we almost signed at Arsenal under Wenger.
I wonder if he could thrive under Arteta with our current squad.
Incredible player.
The finish is good but the defending is disgusting. Azerbaijan…

Top scorer in La Liga
Top scorer in Champions League
All this while playing in a dysfunctional team
Oh, and recently became the youngest player ever to score 400 goals
The best player in the world right now.
Do you not think he adds or is a cause of the dysfunction though?
Gaudy numbers but his work rate and appetite for off the ball and defensive work is embarrassing and when your star player is doing that it’s harder to sell to others especially those in the front line
Watching them it’s kind of like he’s come in and been allowed to take from everyone’s plate but I don’t think that will be enough in Europe at all.
Saw a video last year with Henry analysing his movement and how critical he was of it and thought it was spot on. I know you’re not a fan but Bellingham ended up occupying a lot of the positions you’d expect Mbappe to take up and Mbappe ends up occupying the zones and disrupting other players rhythm.
Obviously a phenomenal talent but he’s only in his mid 20s his lack of work rate off the ball is bizarre.
I remember it, I think he believes that he’s too big for that side and it’s very telling that PSG win the CL after he departed especially with how Dembele became a pressing monster playing through the middle.
He always be in the goals such is his quality but the absence of that side of the game may hold Real back long term, well, when it comes to Europe anyways.
I think most if not all the top coaches would ideally rather not have to deal with him in their team.
Certainly. The fact there’s other passengers defensively is magnifies it.
Covering him alone is a sacrifice you’re willing to make for the output he produces though.
France got that balance right. PSG didn’t and the same is happening at Madrid.
In an ideal scenario Mbappe would be playing off the left as an inside forward, someone else would be playing up top to do the dirty work and you’d have some sort of creator on the right.
With the current personnel I think Madrid’s best front 3 would be Mbappe-Bellingham-Valverde.
And then you have Guler and Trent behind Valverde creating.
So essentially it’d something like this:
Mbappe-Bellingham-Valverde
Camavinga-Tcouameni-Guler
Carreras-Huijsen-Militao-Trent
Courtois

Four games left. At the rate he’s scoring, good chance he breaks Ronaldo’s Madrid record of 69 goals in a calendar year.
I sait it years ago, he could match CR7 numbers if he goes to Madrid.
Shame he’s playing in a somewhat shitty Madrid team atm. Imagine he was playing in a well oiled machine as Ronaldo back in the days.
Were you also killed for it? ![]()
Seriously though, he’s stupendously good. I already knew he was the best player to come after Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar but his stint at Madrid solidified it.
Certainly the best player I’ve seen in a Madrid shirt since Ronaldo and the only one there who has the capacity to reach that type of legacy.
He’s great but he plays his part in it being as poor as it is especially off the ball and the way the team is set up to give him that platform
He’s been brought in and is sucking up all the goals but to a degree it’s at the detriment to the collective IMO
