Kieran Tierney (Loan: Real Sociedad)

Rightly so. Any top level football player would be upset irrespective of it is for the greater good of the team.

But he’s a professional and he’ll come right back into the team this weekend and probably have a high quality game. He’s performed much better the games he’s played this season and he’s working his way back into good form.

This is and was the issue with AMN in terms of attitude.
Either sulking or accepting. There is no room in this set up for that outlook now.

Yeah hopefully he’s gets some more game time, I’d really hate to lose him.

I noticed during the glimt game he strayed very far into midfield almost a second dm in front of the two cb’s.

Tierney has a top attitude and this will only make him perform better

I like this play style, as it encourages every player to be good with the ball; they can specialise in their role but being good with the ball at your feet and passing is a must.

The sport is evolving once again and so should the players.

Yeah he must’ve borrowed this tack from Zinchenko. We always do that in possession when Zinny plays.

Becoming a huge weak link in our squad IMO
Zinchenko has come in and shown Tierney to be off the pace
He came on yesterday and didnt offer much
I remember one brainless clearance that went straight to their midfield in our own half for them to attack again
Needs to improve, its like he has the exit door on his mind

Interesting. I thought Tierney solidified our defence when he came on. Tomi played well, but Tierney is a better left back.

Give Tierney a run of games, he’ll be fine.

We’ll be leaning on him post world cup, methinks. Here’s hoping his injury troubles are behind him and he comes back in late December fresh and raring to go.

Gotta remember as well his injury record is terrible so managing his game time could also be part of Mikel’s decision. He has a big part to play this season and it’s great we have strength in depth at LB.

Until he stops getting played vs FC Farmer in the Europa League he will never start on the Sunday

Play Cedric ffs so he can start vs Forest

Credit to Tomi for the job he did on Salah, but the trade off of having Tierney in is higher.

At least him being on the bench means there’s one slightly attacking substitution we can make.

Thought he gave us another dimension when he came on. He was bombing forward and almost got an assist.

When he’s on it, his direct running on and off the ball gives our attack a simple but effective over/underlap opportunity for either himself or Xhaka / Martinelli.

White did the damage for our goal with that sort of running. Love Tomi but should have been more adventurous with our starting line up

I don’t want to see that very handsome man and very shit footballer anywhere near the team. He can enjoy coaching the U-10s.

That’s the problem now. With the new Arteta setup, asking the fullbacks to go inside most of the time to leave the soace for wingers, that makes Tierney almost useless with his “covnentional” overlapping fullback play.

If Tierney is on the pitch he shouldn’t be asked to “copy” Zinchenko, he should play his game or we simply need another LB.
I’m mad every time I see Tierney drifting into those central positions, when he’s at his best bombing near the line.

Playing inverted dosnt mean not overlapping when it’s the right thing to do. You need to do both otherwise you just become easy to defend against. Our goal came from Ben White going on the overlap.

Those bums had a free run every time they attacked from his side. Nice goal but he is quite awful nowadays, sorry.
Should move on as soon as we can before teams catch up…

He didn’t get much cover as that midfield had holes all over the place.
Certainly the last twenty though he was pulled all around the pitch.
Battled but didn’t win many challenges towards the end.
