This could be more of a 2-3 month injury than an ACL.
He missed that preseason fixture so maybe something was bothering him, he worked back into fitness, and then it bothered him again after the United match. He finished the match which seems unlikely if it was an ACL tear.

Could be an absolute blessing if this guy is out for a while and it forces the club to sign the additional attacker they should have anyway.
Go buy Barcola or Alvarez, both will fit this team nicely even when Kai is back.
