Kai Havertz (29)

That’s all we need also, the rebuild talk is nonsense.

About 8-9 of the starters are at the level and aged between 22-27.

We just need to nail a couple of final pieces, grow together and add depth.

The team has certainly not peaked yet.

I think after the summer we will genuinely have two great players in every position.

Spot Havertz. I just can’t believe that having such a non entity in build up in midfield is not a big part of our problems this season.

£60m well spent

Could’ve had james Maddison for less :smiling_face_with_tear:

Havertz plays regularly, yet there is really nothing about his play that could be described as anything more than average.

For what we paid, he should be a game changer but instead we’ve got a player being shoehorned into the team and doing what any competent attacking squad player could do.

He’s not a bad player but let’s face it, if he was put up for sale in the next transfer window, we’d be hard pushed to get any more than 30m and no top PL club would be in the queue to sign him.

On the day plus side, we don’t have James Maddison :grinning:

Very good second half

Fought his own against giants like van dijk and konate, should be used as a CF for the rest of the season

Literally can’t finish but his mere presence had the Liverpool central defenders shook.

Did the donkey work

The specific attributes he has as a target man get the best out of our midfielders. It’s clear we need a Toney type of striker that suits the system, no?

Warra performance yet again. Dude has been instrumental in so many key wins so far this season, especially against City and Liverpool.

Keep crying though and tell us about how much you miss Xhaka guys, lmao. :joy:

But have to give credit more to Havertz. He rattled Konate and Van Djik today.

An absolute donkey of the highest order, but he was immense today. His finishing is amongst the worst I’ve seen in a long time, but he did almost everything else right today.

His best performances have been up front which would be nothing to do with xhaka ‘lmao’.

Anyway would’ve praised his battling up top today but cba now, shit cunt go back to chelsea.

Thing is, he played CF against City and Pool, people are obvs referring to his performances in CM when saying they miss Xhaka. Apples and oranges really.

So much better when up top.

Impressive today, particularly as it looks like Jesus was a late change. Done a good job for the team today. His versatility is certainly very useful.

What’s funny about yesterday is that if you really analyze his game yesterday and see the average position of the team, he pretty much played the same role that he usually does when he starts as an #8.

Essentially, we played our usual box midfield with Havertz and Odegaard as the two more advanced midfielders, in and out of possession.
Rice and Jorginho were behind them.

You’ll also notice Zinchenko didn’t invert much yesterday and stayed wide for most of the game, same for Kiwior.

I think the main reason why it may feel like he is far more influential when he plays up top, isn’t that he plays up top, it’s that he has more space to exploit. His spacial awareness is incredible.

Probably why he always shone in the CL for Chelsea and also for Germany against top sides.
