Kai Havertz (29)

No shit

But you’re out here acting like he hasn’t kicked it up a notch in the midfield? You’re out here talking about goals and assits as if that is what he’s being tasked with at Leverkusen?

You don’t have to tell me about Xhaka’s failings here, it’s well documented and we’ve all criticised him plenty but don’t be acting like he’s just there and hasn’t been a key player for them in their title tilt

He’s been one of if not the best DLP in that league since joining

I did not see anybody asking for Saka’s head or giving out serious criticism while he had a shitter game than Kai.
What I see more is, people giving excuses by saying he is playing too much.

Plenty of people have been criticising for his poor play and right so, same goes for Martinelli and Jesus

You don’t always have to be so sensitve about Havertz, are you German or something?

dude, I have repeated myself saying that I am NOT German.
David and Ash know it.

It is not about sensitivity, I am asking for fairness more

Does anyone else hear this in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s voice?

“It is NOT a tumor!”

Fair enough

The criticism may have been Havertz centered initally on the forum but you can go to the match threads to see all of our attacking players especially are getting a great deal of criticism

I was surprised they managed to pick him up to be honest. He was on that shit at Benfica before he ran his contract down.

One of the reasons why they were so good last season. Must be infuriating as a Benfica fan to have the team balling out like they did last season(topped their CL group with PSG and Juve) and then lose Enzo midway through the season and then lose Ramos and Grimaldo in the summer.

They still have Joao Mario though.

Benfica will reload. They almost always do. It’s like SEC recruiting.

I’m surprised @Darkseid hasn’t even called me out about taking shit about Xhaka at Leverkusen when I don’t even watch that shitshow of a league.

I’m just here making assumptions about these German teams based off whatever I see of them in Europe.

lol how would I know that you don’t watch?

You out here typing dissertations as if you know what you’re talking about :arteta3:

Tbh, I do know a fellow football geek that has been following Leverkusen for the past year or so.

We occasionally talk so I have a good grasp of how Leverkusen are doing through him.

Although I do think he recognises Xhaka’s deficiencies and limitations, he does rate him as unsung hero for them and thinks Alonso pretty much uses him as his proxy on the field.

Of course I wind him up very often telling him Xhaka is fucking shit and he’s not having that.

I haven’t watched a single Leverkusen performance this season but I can imagine the above being absolutely true.

To the extent that the other day he tried telling me that an essentially free header from 5 yards out was not a clear cut chance lol.

Kai finishing is almost never putting power into his shots. When I watch the warm ups, his finishing is always stroking the ball towards goal (this is a definite flaw in his game). Similarly with the header, he attempted to guide it into the net as opposed to forcefully heading it downward

To me he just feels clumsy, like his legs have grown 5 inches overnight and he still doesn’t know how to use them.

Like a sanogo with a CL final goal to live off.

It was me.

did you play any sports or just a casual fan that only watch?

When you are jumping up for a header or jumping up to take a jump shot (basketball), if someone give you a contact to your lower body, even a slight push, it is easy to knock you off a balance, even just a bit.
A bit of off balance can lead to your shot off target, does not matter it is 10 yards, 5 yards, or even one.

Just had a look on youtube to see if I could find a clip of the missed header but came across this instead. Safe to say Jordan and Souness aren’t fans lol.

I think we may just have to cut losses.

Get a midfielder, sell Eddie and Havertz becomes false 9 permanently

I think he’ll be a useful utility player but I really think the experiment playing in midfield hasn’t been a success. I agree that he should start a few more games up top as he seems to be getting in good positions even if his shooting/heading has looked a bit rusty at times.
