Kai Havertz (29)

Got in a good position again and it paid dividends. Fingers crossed he pushes on. Still looking a bit slow on the ball so hopefully that starts to improve as well :slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face:

Oh man he hit us with the yagunnersya hashtag. His SM manager is top notch.

I enjoyed him skinning the defender in the left hand channel more than anything.

Had a great match all up.

I tend to believe it was Arteta gradually implementing him into the lineup, and asking him to learn and observe and doing the simple stuffs in the beginning.

It is just about time Kai starts feeling comfortable (not about confidence) and get Arteta’s green light to do more.

Even in one of his interview he said he had no rush to adapt.

I do not believe a couple of goals and a couple of good performances would really make a huge morale boost or spike up the ā€œconfidenceā€. Sure the goal(s) takes some pressure off from his shoulders, but his skills and abilities were always there it was not like he ā€œlostā€ them, but he just didn’t use them instead.

Those two goals and his play against Lens in general is exactly what Arteta will have dreamt of seeing from him here. Late runs into the box, taking on wide players, threat in the air. Can only hope this continues because when he’s been off it the team has suffered a lot due largely to where he plays on the pitch.

It’s kinda been used against him but a big positive is that from day one there haven’t really been any questions about his willingness to put in the work off the ball or use his height.

Generally with those type of guys, a big question can be the defensive stuff or getting involved in the non-attacking parts of the game.

Now we are starting to see some glimpses of the movement and taking up/getting into the right attacking positions and those things actually paying dividends.

Happy for Kai but he has a long way to go before he can be considered a success at Arsenal but he’s taken the first step in that direction.

considering certain fowards get double teamed all day its kinda nice to have that spare ghost to pop up n add another dimension to our threat… also add a pure menece into the striker pos like big O n scary tbh… will be good to see what Kai can do… i think good things tbh fam

He’s earned another start against Wolves for sure. There is a chance Trossard comes in somewhere though as he’s been excellent recently too.

Kai seems to be finding his footing now. Goals always help with confidence so I hope he continues chipping in to solidify this upwards trajectory (though goals are not the primary metric I’d measure his success with).

When Kai didn’t smile, he was exactly like Ivan Lendl.

You couldn’t tell their emotions and what they were thinking.

But when they smiled, it was lovely.
You knew their smiles were genuine.

I was so happy to see him smiled on Wednesday.
