The 58-year-old has been placed on gardening leave by Spurs and Castles reports that when he finds a new job the Premier League outfit will have to make up any shortfall in his salary.

I wonder how far he can take that. Could he manage someone for minimum wage and spurs make up the rest? 
From my understanding they have to pay him the remainder of his contract minus any earnings he makes as a PL manager. If he goes outside the PL he could theoretically get a new salary plus the remainder of the Spurs salary. I imagine he’ll try and do this rather than manage in the PL and probably receive less. It’s another reason why Poch going to PSG happened. If he went to another PL club he couldn’t also take the remainder of the Spurs contract in full.
