Jorginho

Proud to habe been pro Jorginho and pro Trossard. You can never have too many good footballers in your squad.

He became a scapegoat for a lot of things which weren’t his fault. Imagine being one nil up in Europe and having Jorginho and Partey on the pitch with one of Rice or Odegaard to see out the game. Real control.

I think he was blamed for one Spuds goal and that’s it.
He was good/very good so far in all matches.

Honestly, if you get the chance, read through sections of thos topic. Jorginho is/was not a popular signing.

I just replied to what you said:

“He became a scapegoat for a lot of things”

Nothing about his signing, just his performance after signing for us.

Oh, no, feedback on his performances is rarely glowing.

nah, I think the overall comments are pretty positive.
maybe I am wrong.

anyway, he is good now, that’s the most important.

I’ve randomly scrolled about 500 posts up and in fairness, the feedback isn’t as negative as I’d imagined.

He did win us over quite quick as a fanbase after that goal at Villa. Amazing

no need to waste time on that

You have to filter out all my shitposts about him. I think on the whole actual analysis of his performances has been pretty fair and it’s been mostly positive! Who could have seen that coming?

If we win something this year I’d really consider getting a Jorginho jersey when they hit super sale in May. That’s how much he’s grown on me.

Yeah, I remember running a wild agenda before we signed him telling people he was seen in the same light as Busquets by Teta and Pep. :arteta4:

People were actually quite complimentary of the move as a last minute alternative tl Caicedo and certainly an upgrade on Lokonga.

In his actual performances, rarely have I seen people have a go at him. Even after that fuckup in that NLD, people didn’t really pile on him.

I think @Joshua is still the only one that dislikes him but that’s because he hates anyone ex-Chelsea.

Excuse me, read my preceding post. That Jake-looking doofus has really grown on me. Game respect game.

Bro read the first 100 or so posts in this thread, it’s 95% hate for the move. Only the Jorginians were willing to see the potential benefit.

OA can’t afford that level of AI.

With all the money you’re saving by not bringing back Likes Plus surely there’s room in the budget.

i mean just in general, it’s ok to think a guy is below par several games and motm the next, not every rating has to be your irreversible final over all judgement on the player’s career, his private life, his family line and the decided value of his gene sequence, subject to ridicule 8 years later

When is his contract expiring btw?

I think you can get around another 2 years of top football out of him, if not more. He’s 32, not that old nowadays, athleticism was never a big part of his game. He wasn’t really much more athletic in his mid 20s than he is nowadays.

As said earlier, you literally can’t find a better player than him for a squad role. City, Real, Bayern would be more than happy to have him doing the same thing.

I agree but if we are improving the squad with Jorginho a starter we are going backwards. If he is cheap and a squaddie no problem.

Its impressive that a skinny bastard like Jorginho can have such a presence in the game. You dont really notice that he has the body of a crack cocaine addict.
