Jorginho

I think he’ll be getting a lot of criticism for tonight considering how good we looked when Partey came on and that one really eye-catching loss of possession however (and I can’t believe I’m saying this) I thought he was perfectly fine tonight. This probably isn’t an ideal matchup for him with three guys in midfield.

Not his best game. Wouldn’t say that he was poor though.

Yeah poor probably isn’t right, just didn’t do anything really constructive. Happy we have him though, 3 fantastic games prior.

You have to give Dyche some acknowledgement here.
Everton set up really well. Nullified the heart of the team for the first 40.
Pushed into our faces a bit higher and wasn’t prepared to just sit right back.

Apparently Jorginho wasn’t feeling well

Arteta: “We needed a magic moment there and Alex and Bukayo produced that, and then I think the team grew, especially with Thomas because Jorginho wasn’t feeling good today. When he came on he really gave us some presence and stability to the team and I think the second half was superb.”

They were well drilled when they didnt have the ball but Everton were negative from kick off. Just minutes in they started time wasting and that comes from Dyche. I can’t support those type of tactics…completely anti football and not something you want to see in the PL.

What do you want him doing. He set up a system that worked well and will be very important going forward.
I think these anti football shouts are just ridiculous.
Not want too see in the prem. It’s a part of world football.

Time wasting from the first minute isn’t football and shouldn’t be allowed during the match. It’s not football. No issue with a team setting up defensively but don’t tell your keeper to drag out taking goal kicks and your other players to go down to waste time. I have no respect for this at all and it was good that we gave them a spanking last night. They deserve to go down playing football like this!

Yeah mate. Play more FiFA. Every goal a worldie.

This is what you get when you go from Ancelotti and Benitez down to the level of Dyche.
It’s probably the worst Everton side their supporters have seen and their style of football matches their league position.
I doubt they’ll go down because there are other teams marginally less well equipped to stay up but their supporters have already protested this season and it’s not going to get any better.

You did see their form under Rafa. The problem is the same. Poor players.
What do you think he should do going to a top of the table side with those players exactly?

I don’t play FIFA but I do go to the Emirates to watch and support my team so as a supporter I am within my right to say the sort of tactics Dyche employed last night have no placce in football. It is a form of cheating. I get it if you are in 90th minute or trying to run down injury time. That’s game management but not from kick off. That’s anti football.

What should a team with a shit squad going too the top of the League do then?
Bearing in mind unless you can go back as far as 1975 we have no understanding of threat of relegation?

I think the problem they will have is lack of goals. The other teams down there seem better placed to be able to score. Yes they are probably more solid in defence now under Dyche but if a team breaks them down I can’t see them coming back to win a match. I think they have Forest next which will be an interesting one to watch.

Let’s be fair, until we scored Everton were the better side at the f’n Emirates of all places.

All teams against us waste time from pretty early on and are forced into their own half. Even City took a more pragmatic approach and that wasn’t even by design according to Pep. Same for Leicester last week.

I wouldn’t expect even clubs like Bournemouth or Southampton to play like that but Everton are a big club and their supporters must be cringing with embarrassment at the tactics Dyche is using.
He got what he deserved playing those sort of tactics.

Set your team up defensively if that’s the way you want to play and let the other team try to break you down. Or come and play. I don’t have an issue with either but don’t tell your team to time waste and cheat from kick off.

I get where you’re coming from but it’s an officiating problem. As long as teams are allowed get away with time wasting I don’t really blame them for doing it.

There not. Go on the forums. They feel like they have a bit of hope compared to when Lampard. They have two wins since he’s arrived in 5 games.
They had 3 in 20 before that.
