Whatever the punishment is, the FA is setting a precedent here. And you know Liverpool fans will be eyeing the next player who hounds the referee after being sent off. Bruno Fernandes…you’ve been warned
Lmao, two scandalous decisions so far this week.
Top league in the world my ass.
The officiating in this country has to be the worst of the top 5 leagues in Europe, surely.
VAR in the Premier League is absolutely atrocious.
If these kind of decisions were happening in Romania, Bosnia or Peru everybody would be talking about bribes, rigged games and would be laughing at the decisions…
But somehow in the best and the biggest league in the world we are used to be seeing these kinds of things week and week out.
When will the quality of refereeing come even remotely close to the quality and the standard of football in this league?
I obviously hate the call but you see these given a lot tbh. No touch from Akanji and a couple of metres from the keeper. Wasn’t that surpirsed to see it stand.
Consistency is the real problem, same situations are not treated equally.
They can’t ref themselves, and that is exactly what is happening.
FIFY
It’s not corruption, it’s just an organisation with no real accountability putting itself before the function it’s actually meant to perform.
soooooooo corruption
Not in the sense I think you meant it. They’re not making incorrect decisions because someone is paying them to or something like that.
no not really that, but they also have all the right technology they have the knowledge but have no accountability as you say and they have a lot of money in that institute also.
You are telling me all these obvious calls that are so called ‘mistakes’ aren’t being done because of some sort of internal bias or something like that. As you say no accountability all the equipment and even a non football fan can get the calls right. That tells me that they arent playing straight and fair they are purposefully making ‘poor decisions’ and then afterwards it is like ‘oh well a mistake was made onwards we go.’
They literally are shaping the league by adding points to teams that dont deserve them and shaving them off to teams that do…that is corruption.
I think the problem with “bias” is that if that’s what they’re doing I can’t see any teams they’re refereeing for the benefit of.
Rodri
Corrupt, no. Incompetent…absolutely
That last guy is right. United are treated differently and always have been.
I mean I think that proves every club thinks the conspiracy is against them.
Utd were on the end of some favorable decisions today, but the key decisions were correct. I’d be very disappointed if that penalty decision went against us, as much as the goal not being called offside. OTOH, I think Utd definitely get a penalty in identical circumstances if we’re at OT. Also VAR probably forget to draw the lines, and give Garnacho his goal if Utd are behind in the game.
The most scandalous decision in this one was Saka getting booked for making contact with Bruno, when it’s clearly caused by Saka being hauled over by (I think it was) Dalot.
