Granit Xhaka

They think they’re slick with the way they timed the tweet. Engagement bait

They’re not fooling me. I will be here celebrating them going trophyless next year and Alonso subsequently leaving them.

Man’s a fucking invincible, incredible!! Welcome to the club!

I’ve slagged him off plenty but you’ve gotta give him his props at the end of the day. He was a key piece in potentially one the best sides (over a season) Europe has ever seen.

Would swap him for Partey instantly

I’m not having that haha. Competing in the Europa League, winning a Bundesliga where Bayern finish third and last seasons relegation candidates finish second does definitely not make them one of the best teams Europe has ever seen.

You can’t argue with an unbeaten treble. This Bayern side took Madrid the distance in a CL semi final, they weren’t total scrubs

If they pull it off and win out surely they’re a better side (over the course of a season) than say the Arsenal invincibles?

Look at the absolute dross they faced in Europe haha. And also Bayern doing well against Madrid so not an indication of them being good. They got eaten alive in the BL this season.

@sevchenko I’m pretty sure Celtic have done an unbeaten season as well, but I wouldn’t put them in the Arsenal bracket.

Put it this way, Arsenal of this season would kill Leverkusen of this season. That would put paid to any talk to Leverkusen being one of the best teams in Europe ever.

6 Seasons to give one good season. Thanks!

Scotland isn’t a top 5 European league nor did they win in Europe. Plus they’re essential the Bayern of Scotland. Apples to Oranges

Stop it bro. Arsenal got done by the worst Bayern side in years, full strength no injuries either. Leverkusen outplayed them H2H and over the course of the season which is the clearer indication of quality

Man’s a fraud

I would genuinely give Celtic a fighting chance of winning the Europa Conference League in any given season.

They were sweating and puffing against a dog shite West Ham, a dog shite Roma and barely knocked out the big underdogs in Qarabag.
And I’ve seen some of these matches, they looked rough.

Don’t get me wrong, clearly a very exciting team with some promising young players but I will never put them up there with the greatest sides.
I probably wouldn’t even put them above the Leicester side that won the PL.

Let’s see them in the Champions League next year.

Still unbeaten competition though whilst competing over three competitions, yet they find themselves in the final. It’s not actually easy to get the the EL final and win just ask Arteta.

Do you rank the Arsenal invincibles, who people commonly regard as of the best sides in the PL era, above 23/24 Leverkusen? I’m very curious

They don’t even have a forward like Henry or a midfielder like Vieira.

If Xhaka was key to them winning the league then why was he so poor for us until his last season?
I’ve got no problem with Xhaka but we’re a better team without him and certainly wouldn’t have him back.

I think the answer obvious based on my previous post.

Clarification that I do not watch Bundesliga. I may have tuned into to watch final 15-30 minutes of a game but you won’t find me watching full games there.
So this is mainly from what I’ve seen of them in Europe.

I see them as an exciting young team, similar to Chelsea currently.
Had they been playing in the PL I don’t think they’d go 10 games without a loss.

The difference I saw last year from when Roma knocked them out to this year wasn’t significant.
I saw the same flaws of a young team in defence, and indecisiveness going forward.
This is by the way with the benefit of having majority of their team fully rotated ahead of their European games. Bayern has been doing the same. Same for Dortmund.
At that stage of a season it’s a huge advantage which probably helped all three get as far as they have in Europe.

I’d like to see them next year with a decent coach at Bayern and also see how they fair in the CL.
I don’t think they’ll go far without investment.

My expectation is a reality check and they’ll go trophyless.

I honestly thought you were trolling…

81 point season in a objectively weak PL ahead a potentially unbeaten treble across three competitions including a European cup? Seriously what planet are you on?

Crazy way to minimize the physical and mental endurance, superior coaching, squad management and talent required to do what Leverkusen can potentially do this season.

The disrespect is crazy

Dude, they’re playing in a farmer’s league what are we talking about here?

They do near full team rotations over there and still thrash their opponents.

If Arsenal do a near full team rotation against any team this season bar Sheffield United we probably get slapped.
