I have news for you. He is the club vice-captain. Like it or not
That’s a fhakat.
Sorry but Arteta named Jesus and Xhaka as joint vice captain, so he is in fact our vice captain.
No, we can moan/complain as you and many others have, but objectively, managers and players all see/saw Xhaka as a captain/leader within the squad, so clearly they see something that you and I cannot. Strangely I value Arteta’s and the players in our squad’s opinion on Xhaka more than I do yours
We should boo him the next time he steps on the pitch. That’d show him.
Meant more metaphorically. I wont accept him as my captain or vice captain, disappointed I had to explain that.
Fully aware of that, wont change my opinon on him.
So do I, have been an Arteta fan since he walked through the door, whilst others were calling for his head a few months later. I trust him completely, doesnt mean I cant disagree with the decision to keep Xhaka and make him a vice captain.
This is a forum for opinions and I am allowed to dislike one of our players. Seems thats quite hard for people on here to accept. I have many mates at games who would rather particular players wernt there anymore.
sorry, I am old school, rather have a character like Xhaka as a captain (his footballing ability is another question).
Liverpool needed a reason to turn the game into a fight and Xhaka gave it to them. Their players and fans then had a common enemy because before that the Liverpool fans were on their players backs.
Not saying the defeat was Xhaka’s fault at all, but that moment was the catalyst for their fans waking up. Sometimes I wish this guy would just walk away. 2 nil up at Anfield, no need to poke the bear. Idiotic move.
We won 2-2 bro what you talking about
I think Xhaka contribution to the turn of the game is a bit overblown. It gave the Anfield crowd a voice but they’d have found it anyway eventually. Liverpool adjusted tactically and started to find ways to beat our press and also ways to prevent us from breaking there’s.
They absolutely obliterated us in the second half and I think putting that on Xhaka pushing Trent is basically ignoring the way they adjusted and the way our players couldn’t find a way to match Liverpool. Mikel failed big time to in not really adjusting or trying anything massively different.
The manager, the players collectively take blame for this. I think people putting it on Xhaka are giving the Anfield crowd too much credit.
I mean the same crowd is roaring like fuck 2 up against Real Madrid and. . .
Oh my bad I thought we lost 2-2
I think it wasnt so much them obliterating us, I think we helped in our performance by constantly giving the ball away, being sloppy in possession and retreating into our own box.
Had we of continued to play our game then I think we could have scored again
Yeah but Valverde didn’t square up to Hendo.
The players giving the ball away, being sloppy in possession and retreating has everything to do with the way Liverpool played. They broke through our press at will, they blocked off a lot of our passing channels and showed a lot of energy in the second half that effectively led our players to making those kind of mistakes.
It’s not a case of our players just giving the ball away and being sloppy. Liverpool forced our hand in that regard
I dont agree im afraid
I think we were the cause of our eventual downfall
We were needlessly giving the ball away without pressure, we were sloppy and then we slowly retreated further back and back and back
So, Xhaka got into an incident, the crowd got pumped up, and after one minute or so Pool scored on us.
Do you really believe that, just one minute of crowd chanting could all out of a sudden waking up their players and then immediately scored on us?
IF that really works, their fucking crowd should take PED every game kept chanting 90 mins for their players.
Use your brain and read my post properly. Cheers.
I did not counter your reason, just added on my opinion.
Sorry, bad English.
Fair enough mate. Sorry if I sounded short.
Missed our boy tonight.
