Granit Xhaka

Perhaps he can take solace in knowing that some other Maddies have suffered far worse than supporting Arsenal

Well this is true. My sister is a Maddie, and not only has she grown up supporting Arsenal, she has just had a baby with a Spurs fan :gabriel:

Ooof. Obviously you were raised right. What happened to her? :arteta:

We’re only half sisters to be fair. We have different dads. I blame him (even though he was brought me up and is the one who got me into Arsenal) :see_no_evil:

Just out of curiosity. My sister’s full name is Maddison, is that the same as your daughter? Or is she just Maddie?

Madeline, like the kid’s book. She does not have red hair nor are we planning on sending her to live in a convent seeing as we’re Jewish.

Given that she is about to be subjected to a life of Arsenal, sending her to a convent might be a good idea

(Kidding, obviously, seeing as we like to take things literally on here)

If it means moving to France I’m definitely up for it. My wife would be as well because I think she’d be able to work over there. I’d be completely useless as per usual. :arteta:

You’re not totally useless… your daughter is gorgeous, so you must have done something right. Has she got a Halloween outfit by the way? I bought my 10 month old nephew a ghostbuster suit.

This might annoy other members, but I don’t care… I want lots of pictures of Maddie! :grinning:

I did! I married up, like all men do. :ozil:

Maddie is going as Princess Leia. I really wanted her to dress up as Eleven from Stranger Things so I could dress up as Sheriff Hopper but that got nixed. I’ll add some photos of her to the relationships thread when I get off work.

I hope Xhaka comes out swinging rather than act like a pussy crying at home.

Given the on pitch performance is so poor and Pantomime season is upon us we need a real panto villain to jeer to keep us otherwise entertained.

Come on Granit - bring it on.

Social media should never be used as an excuse. It’s a cesspit.

As non apology apologies go that’s not bad.

good statement.

He should blanket ban any comments on his insta tbh, nothing good is ever said there.

He can stay as a bench option tbh, at least until his relationship with the fan is rehabilitated a bit (see Mustafi)

Lmao come on mate, are you his consultant to make that decision?

If someone has been ā€œhurtā€ by abuse, whether it’s in person, via email, via phone-call, via social media then you focus on the part that the person admits and opens that he has been hurt; you or me don’t get to decide what should and shouldn’t trigger a person’s emotions or mental state.

Look at the content; ā€œI hope your daughter gets cancerā€ when you read that as the father of the daughter, you don’t focus where it’s from or on which platform; if it’s about someone who means to you and it triggers you mentally then that is a natural human feeling you cannot have an opinion on; especially when you are not in that position.

Too many people pretending to be ice cold on here but the minute they are expected to complete 60% pass percentage in front of a 60k hostile crowd; their legs would be shaking.

I think his statement is absolutely fair enough. I don’t think he should continue as captain, but that aside I think this should be the end of the matter.

Social media is a hunting ground for trolls. People that post those comments most likely aren’t Arsenal fans.

All professionals know this, except Xhaka it seems. Probably because he’s a bit thick.
