Granit Xhaka

Throwing the armband down was enough. Everything that happened after that was inevitable.
The club will strip him of his captaincy, fine and ban him. The PL may also have something to say about it.

As for Emery, he’s always felt like a modern-day Bruce Rioch. Lightweight, inconsequential and uninspiring. He and Xhaka should ply their trade elsewhere.

Think Xhaka’s reaction “fuck off” was a build up from being abused in public areas with his mrs. Being abused on Instagram comments and when his Mrs was pregnant, she was receiving abuse on her instagram comments to the extent she had to disable instagram comments.

Xhaka is a shit player - but management chose not to sell him - management chose to select him as captain and management continued to play him. I’ll say it again, our fanbase is one of the worse ones in the PL.

I remember when Ramsey posted pics of his new born, and fans were abusing him then as well. Too many entitled pricks in the fanbase.

I still think the “boo’s” were somewhat justified as Xhaka was walking off and reacted badly but let’s not deny that the Emirates is a “theatre” as Arshavin once said; and our fanbase was is toxic af, far from “supporters.”

I just think it’s a point of no return for him and the fan’s and his time at the club. I just don’t think the fan’s will ever accept him again, and I don’t think Xhaka will ever forgive the fans. Even if he comes out and “apologies”, how much of it is from him or it’s a thing forced on him by the club.

I definitely think Emery needs to take him out of the first team for the foreseeable future until it all dies down, Emery and the players have to have known that the fan’s weren’t that keen on Xhaka been captain. Silly decision from the coach (and the players) that has backfired on him massively.

I think Xhaka just hasn’t helped himself with his after match comments, which comes off like all talk no action and defeatist in some cases, which rile up some fans. His silly and rash challenges that cost us points and the fact he’s just not worthy of his place in the first 11. I just don’t see what Wenger and Emery see in him.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the last time we see him, and he’s sold or sent on loan in January and we move on. I definitely don’t think Emery should play him for the next few games at the very least.

Is there any footage of how he went off yesterday?

I think the problem here isn’t Xhaka its emery, Xhaka isn’t a defensive midfielder, so can’t really blame him for playing poorly out of position. Our best period of play last year came when Torreira was in the DM role and Xhaka was higher up. Granted he wasn’t great but at least he looked like improving and was contributing in a positive way to play.

Personally I think it’s disgraceful to boo off any player during a game. It does nothing but just creates a bad vibe. I personally don’t think it’s a big deal, he was being jeered off and lashed out in the heat of the moment.

What we need to do now is get rid of Emery, pay him the £4/5 million or whatever and get some one new in. It’s better to take that hit now rather than lose £40/50 million when we don’t qualify for the top 4!

Finding it hard to care. What’s the point of being outraged by Xhaka? By his reaction? By a tortured fanbase brimming with emotion who acted in the way for the most part they wouldn’t dream of. I understand completely how it’s come to this for those in the stadium yesterday and wouldn’t dare criticise their actions.

But this is just the latest in litany of shite going back the best part of a decade. It’s getting harder and harder to motivate myself into properly “supporting” this club. And I travelled to three fucking games last season because the change of manager etc had me revitalised. The club should look at people like me and worry a lot! But then again I might end up being dumb enough to travel over to a game before the end of the season cos in some ways I can’t help myself.

Josh Kroenke was supposedly there yesterday. I hope he felt what was happening in that stadium. At two up the feeling of inevitably the lead would be squandered. The fans reactions to it’s own player. That players reaction to the fans. If the guy has any real feeling for sports in his bones at all he’ll be telling Raul to get the address book out and start shopping for a new manager…buy even then, he shouldn’t fucking have to.

The whole thing is fucked. The absolute best thing about Arsenal right now is this forum right here.

Quite a few on here I would like to see get the sack lol. This place at times can be no fun either. Just how it feels to support Arsenal at this time. Far too many Ozil fan boys and Daddy Wenger lovers. I think we got one of the most split fanbases in world football, I never seen it anywhere else.

I just don’t see it been great at this club no matter who they bring in, to be honest. It’s going to be a long time before we probably see the heights of the late 90’s and early 00’s again. I think it’s best for all that Xhaka doesn’t play again and is sold off or loaned out in January, I think the fan’s clearly don’t like him and I think the feelings mutual. If Emery plays him again, it’s just going to get worse.

I was just reading some comments from people at the game on Reddit and they say the booing didn’t start until Xhaka ripped off the captains armband and threw it on the ground lol

Can anyone here confirm that?

Well, technically – the fans were cheering when he was substituted.

Ahh right fair

Nah I watched it, they were booing him from the beginning. He tried to get the fans going, they kept jeering him and then he reacted badly.

I feel bad for him, I know he’s not great but he honestly gets scapegoated. The whole team is piss poor, they don’t defend properly, are wasteful upfront, can’t string together 4 passes, have no idea what to do when attacking etc… Yet every game it’s “Xhaka”. I saw a picture of Torreira supposedly in tears at Xhaka’s treatment. Worst is this kind of behaviour from a group of toxic fans will just result in more players being unhappy at the club. Will have a negative knock on effect.

Fucking utter weapons grade radiation emitting bullshit.

He came out and spoke about having outgrown this club when it’s clear to literally everyone I know who watches football that he is in no way good enough for Arsenal Football Club. Managers have stood by him consistently despite all faults, he should be grateful for that and to play for this club, because he’s been promoted way above his level and will never play for as great a club as this. Yet some fucker calls him committed.

He also regularly gets spotted meandering around the pitch, sometimes even picking his fucking nose, while opposition midfielders stroll into our box at will to score. I’m not seeing much evidence of his great attitude on the pitch.

Not fair to question his attitude or commitment? Fuck right off with that bullshit random twitter man, one of the worst fucking takes I’ve seen in the aftermath of yesterday.

I’d feel worse for Xhaka if some of his mistakes weren’t so fucking costly and he wasn’t always getting caught out on camera just ball watching (remember when he let a player walk past him, then he picked his nose and the guy scored?).

This is the result of years of costly mistakes that have cost us wins and draws.

For me the way he reacted when he gave away the peno to Brighton last season was the last straw. It looked to me like he didn’t give a damn. His stupid tackle to give away the peno during the NLD this season just adds to me not liking him as a player. His interviews also come off really badly for someone who’s a leader, very spineless.

I just think a large portion have had enough with him, and he clearly doesn’t like us either and hasn’t done for a long time. He’s not suited to the PL and is a middling talent at best.
