Amidst the shit show that tonight was, think Xhaka was really good. No surprises to see no conciliatory messages on here.

Totally agree, I thought he was especially good in the opening 25 minutes or so when we were controlling the match well.
He was one of our better performers on a night in which the bar wasn’t set high, admittedly.
He did one significant pass and one shot and he didn’t fuck up. Maybe that constitutes really good for him but its not good enough.

Yeah not his biggest fan but was good in the first half and stood out. Faded with the rest after an hour though.
Xhaka was our best player on the pitch in the first half.

This is just biased.
Agree he’s had rubbish moments this season but the level of selective viewing about certain members of our squad is a complete joke.
Think his passes were smart throughout - Ozil / Kolasinac didn’t offer enough where receiving a lot and Torreira was barely on the pitch this evening.

Countless passes stretching the play to Kola in the first half, if we had a legit class LW we’d have been ahead at half time.

Hate this guy and I hope he fucks off in the summer and we get some money in return BUT, he was great in the first half. Offensively especially. Defensively in the second we were shambles as a whole.

Yep, basically any time we got in behind them Xhaka was involved. Very rarely did anyone else progress the ball so he stood out totally for me.
And nothing else, only one of those passes was anything beyond standard. Hes a far less talented David Beckham.
