No one likes these guys here lol (the ones doing the haka for clarity). They are widely considered to be and viewed as nutjobs.
They are more of a cult than a right-wing political group specifically. Right-wing in New Zealand is still quite left compared to other parts of the western world. These guys are basically from a church called ‘Destiny Church’ run by a guy called Brian Tamaki.
Obviously we have a lot of this stuff bubbling under the surface with the whole colonisation thing in our recent past.
So many New Zealanders have come out in defence of the Sikhs noting what they have done for the community. From one warrior nation to another they have stated the Sikhs are to be respected.
As for Brian Tamaki the bloke is just a wanker !? Hes NZ Nigel Farage.
This Labour government and Keir Starmer have absolutely fucked it with this Muslim anti-gay, anti-Semite, and anti-white Egyptian they’ve taken in.
What an absolute shit show.
Interesting how he’s only being portrayed as an anti-Semite in the media though, despite plenty of abhorrent rhetoric against homosexuals and white people.
How do you give a person like that British citizenship when you know for sure he doesn’t exactly ascribe to the values of a British citizen you’d want.
They must see why everyone prefers the type of isolationism the right at least speak about if not act on.
Lucy doesn’t like it when people use social media to call for violence against people. While she supports freedom of speech, she knows that doesn’t mean freedom from consequences.
Yeah clearly she should have been a Muslim terrorist sympathiser calling for the death of Jews, gays and white people instead - then she’d never have been jailed in the first place. She’d have had three entire ministries and two separate governments fighting for her freedom.
The point is that her, Farage and vast swathes of the right wing felt that her calling for the death of refugees/migrants in hotels was fine and should not be punished by the state, and treat her as a heroine/martyr, but simultaneously want to report this bloke to the police for doing the same thing and see him punished.
My view is that neither are fine and both warrant punishment. What’s yours?
More of a failure of the liberal internationalist bias in the civil service especially in the Foreign Office and Home office. The classic critique of civil servants is that they’re out of touch with the average member of public and that being seen to do something is better than actually doing the right way things ie an SW1 mentality
Its on civil servants to do due diligence and advise ministers accordingly. Clearly this guy should have been given British citizenship and should have been flagged by the FO much earlier.
Maybe a Reform government is the proper sledgehammer needed to effect some change
Not to mention their entire manifesto is going to be built on making rich people even richer and poor people struggle even more.
Going to be massive cuts to public spending that make the current and last governments look generous, huge tax breaks for the wealthy that mimic Trump and the continued destruction of the NHS and push for privatisation.
A reform government would be even worse then the wanker we currently have in charge and that’s saying something
I reckon those sparkler candles were probably what people were filming on the count down to new years and that image we’re seeing there is a second or two after shit went wrong.
You might not even realise in the moment how serious it was about to be and with drink taken etc it could take a few more seconds to react.
And it was in a basement and any windows, which would likely be at ceiling level, plus a narrowish stairway out of there, were surely major factors in the tragedy. Haven’t heard if the fire limit capacity was exceeded. And how the fuck are sparklers allowed (if they were) in what appears to be a pretty tight space?
All the witnesses and news reports suggest the place went up in seconds. In the video that still comes from there are even people still dancing who haven’t seen the fire.
At this stage it seems all the questions need to be pointed squarely at the owners responsible for a basement that seems like it might as well have been doused in petrol rather than kids who had seconds to realise their lives were in danger.
