Forget the alt right shitbirds who are easily ruined.

It’s the ‘liberal’ lizards that don’t have a principle or original thought to rub together who we are relying on as the future of ‘left-wing’ thought.

We got the likes of Wes Streeting in that mold and that young Labour prick that won that by-election.

You probably have young Dem nausea inducing lizards that wax lyrical about Reagan as well, I don’t pay much attention so I dunno.

Tbf @Leper while I agree with you on this, I can understand Americans getting exasperated watching elections and power shared by the same collection of old people.

Seeing Schemer, Pelosi, Clinton, Biden, Graham etc. as nauseum would be annoying to me too.

Our system is just so different from a Parliamentary system.

We don’t have a left wing. We have insane right and something approaching center/center-right in terms of parties.

And don’t get me started on the insanity of people like Pelosi, Schumer and others just holding a vice grip on power and leadership within the Democrat party. Hell, one of the dumbest vanity moves of all time wasn’t even an elected politician. Ruth Bader Ginsberg refusing to retire when Obama was president was a total ego move and backfired in such spectacular fashion.

I think expecting the “Boomers” (Out of interest are we including our parents in that) to die off for change to happen is going to end in disappointment. Many of the far-right movements and governments have younger faces (and reportedly are active on the likes of TikTok). Goodluck, I’d prefer a better plan.

Young people are a blank canvas. The future isn’t decided on what kind of voting block they’d end up being.

(Some of the names here mentioned btw are from the Silent Generation for the record)

Oh yeah, I’m not saying it’s a viable plan to wait for people to die in order to get real positive change.

And there definitely are plenty of very vocal Gen-Z (and younger) influencers on social media promoting things like “trad life” or those clips that go viral with titles like “Only Fans girl gets ROASTED”. But you’ll never have uniform political thought within one age cohort. There are left wing Boomers out there, they didn’t all vote for Reagan.

This guy looks like a prime droid to take over from the vile boomers.

Fucking lizard.

It’s really more about choice and the tax revenue from it.

All the people I know who are against weed are the same people that’ll smash 20 pints every weekend and get so hungover they can’t get out of bed, and then they have the gall to act high and mighty about weed and it being a drug. Like cmon. I don’t even smoke weed, but I’ve seen how they’ve legalised it with the dispensaries in America and it clearly works very well over there.

It’s also about what an unregulated market does. Because if you do like to smoke weed, then you are basically beholden to whatever your guy has at the time, which is usually pretty strong stuff, and it’s usually indica which turns you into a zombie.

I smoke infrequently nowadays because it’s just too strong for me. It’s like enjoying alcohol and the only option you have is Absinthe.

If you’re big into the Israel-Palestine discourse, he’s a pretty well known player in NY politics. Couldn’t tell you one iota about his other positions but he’s a big time Israel backer.

I’d much rather trump and his ilk than pricks like this gaslighting me and thinking I’m stupid

Fuck off Kirby you dumb bastard

The US will never stop military aid to Israel, no matter what they do.

Best you are going to get are strong words.

You want us to hang some sort of condition over their neck

Yes, that would be great thanks

I completely understand the resentment for Biden and even many peoples rationale for not wanting to vote for him but to make a judgement that Trump would be better is asinine.

Trump’s policies directly lead up to this disaster in Gaza/Palestine. Moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, Jared Kushner flying around making deals with the Saudis, assassinating Iranian generals, etc.

The fact that Netanyahu prefers trump is telling.

You give him too much credit. Decades of unwavering US support is what did this.

This is absolutely True. Point stands that another trump presidency would be detrimental for everyone.

It’s also true that the Democratic Party is doing it’s best to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

It also leads to this weird smugness from some corners of the left that I just can’t wrap my head around.

And I get single issue voting, I really do, but Trump was such a disaster and his stated campaign goals would be such a disaster for many different sectors of American life that I feel like I have to vote for Biden because there’s no other viable option and not voting in this election is the same as a vote for Trump.

I think it’s a built up resentment, well warranted albeit, at the Democratic establishment for essentially capitulating to right wingers at every opportunity—which just incentivizes the Republicans and their base to become more and more unhinged. That and they’ve got the likes of Joe Manchin, Sinema and now Fetterman playing this rotating villain role.

I have to fight the same cynical urge to say to hell with the entire Democratic Party all together. The only logical reason to say eff Biden in favor of the orange stain is to accelerate the apocalypse. Which I can’t begrudge anyone for feeling that way either.

I’m sorry, I can’t read that sort of stuff - heartbreaking. Automatic sentence for any kind of animal abuse should be the same treatment given to the perps.
