Brexit then lockdown, with self serving Tories, led by Boris, the biggest buffoon and liar in politics.
What could go wrong?

When Brexiteers are asks to name anything that Brexit has done for the good of the country, itā€™s strange that silence is often the only reply.

That happened to most economies in Europe, and Britain is noticeably worse off than them.

Germany had as harsh or harsher lockdowns for longer

Funny thing is I never voted brexit  but at the same time one can objectively look and see that locking the country down and not allowing people to work is not good for the economy. There so many factors into it that oh Britain is ā€œthe sick man of Europeā€. Greece, Portugal and Italy were always fucked only a few countries were actually doing well

First it was the best thing to ever happen to this country, and now they pretend they never voted for it

Lol Iā€™ve always said I didnā€™t from the start. I maintained that Iā€™m not from this country so I have no right to. Just that you missed the many times Iā€™ve said this

Yeah it is Brexit. Because the rest of Europe had lockdowns too and some more severe ones than Britain. Yet, it is the UK who is royally fucked with their economy.

The UK wonā€™t recover until they recognise what a disaster Brexit is and go back on a hard Brexit.

Not necessarily rejoin the EU but at least this awful arrangement

Itā€™s easy for a large collection of countries to help each other stave off a deep recession. Itā€™s funny how everyone is in recession yet the talk is how deep one is. Thatā€™s like two people stepping in shit and one laughs at the other because he has more shit under his shoes . The people voted to leave itā€™s done now moaning about it 4 years on whenever something bad happens is just ridiculous now.

I sometimes import large quantity of books from the UK and it has become more expensive (import duty) and shipping takes longer, basically, on a micro-scale it shows how much more hassle, more money and worse the experience has become to do business with the United Kingdom.

Forcing me to look for these books elsewhere, meaning this particular seller loses a customer. Thanks to Brexit.

Hindu money in British politics gonna help the police let those hindutva thugs off in Leicester.

Theyā€™re going to incite something very ugly if weā€™re not careful.

Bringing Nazi-esque tactics here.

Portugal isnā€™t fucked and hasnā€™t been for a while, household bills havenā€™t risen that much the health service is doing fine, food prices have gone up only a tiny bit due to the knock on effect of the fuel rise
Thereā€™s plenty of work and shops are doing fine, when you have a socialist government who actually know what they are doing it helps sometimes.

Those may not of risen but what about the jobs market?

I will answer based on my experience in the Netherlands.

Even in light of the massive influx of Ukrainians and other immigrants, we donā€™t have enough people to fill all the jobs we have available in the Netherlands.

This means, that anyone who is willing to and capable to work can find a job in The Netherlands.

Despite covid. Despite inflation.

Much of that I attribute to being part of the European Union. Together we are stronger. 100%.

Itā€™s strange how before the lockdown nobody was talking about how investment in the U.K. outstripped the rest of the eu, nor how we had the fastest growing job market.

Plenty of jobs around because everyone wants to be a doctor or a lawyer, seriously though there are plenty of jobs but a lot of menial work doesnā€™t pay a lot
