And just like THAT!! :raised_hands: Mark Cuban wins 2022.

Billionaire Mark Cuban has launched a war against Big Pharma. Recently, he started an online pharmacy where over 100 lifesaving medications are offered at low costs. He charges a standard 15% markup in an industry that typically sees no less than 100% markup. In just one example, a life saving leukemia drug with a typical retail price of $9,657 is offered by him for a total of $47. Insurance is not accepted due to the fact that it would force him to work with manufacturers requiring certain price points.

Your move Elon.

Seems like a really easy way to make a little bit of money, while at the same time undermining the corrupt insurance system.

Win win for me.

This news hurts. I had my hopes up when recently the prices had started to go back to relative normality. Even worse than the initial rise. Gonna have to plan summer road trips wisely.

People are gonna need to start exploring the Elizabeth Line options etc also. Not even sure if I’m anywhere near one.

dunno who he is but fuck yes :muscle:

Yeah, had to look up who he is, myself. Apparently this is available only in the U.S. at present. Hopefully, he’ll expand.

Do we really need this?

It shouldn’t be news. One school with a weird uniform policy.

I know the term ‘gender neutral’ sounds very woke (hate that term - but what else to use!?), it could just be an attempt by a school to dispense with gender stereotyping, which sounds much better. Not that the headteacher said that though. She does highlight parental cost as a reason (bit weird) and student health (possibly to prevent things like upskirting)? Some people cite a lack of democracy in the decision, but then again I know schools that don’t allow kids to dress up for World book day and they don’t consult anyone.

to me having a uniform policy at all is weird  I guess it’s big over there huh.

Yeah, all schools have uniform. It’s a good thing for the most part. Supposed to signify pride and inclusion. The kids look smart (most of the time, lol) and there is no peer pressure to pick the “right” outfit each morning. Kids can be cruel, so this way students will all look the same regardless of family income.

I am a big supporter of uniforms. It makes sure no one feels insecure about what they wear.
Absolutely necessary for kids

Having experienced schools with uniforms and those without myself as a kid (and now have kids of my own) I’m definitely for.

My school had the worst of both worlds. Grey T shirt and Jumper with the school logo on, but you could wear whatever bottoms and shoes, so it didn’t even look smart and you still had all the negative shit about the latest trainers. I think after 3 years they moved towards black trousers and black shoes which was better.

Try going to secondary school in Hertfordshire. Girls had to wear bloody school kilts. Yeah it looked smart, but wasn’t exactly flattering  Still preferred it to no uniform though.

I used to hate non uniform day as a kid because my family didn’t have the money to buy me nice clothes lol. Nobody ever said anything to me but I know deep down everyone knew my family was poor lol

I’m Absolutely pro-uniform and always will be.
