What the fuck.
Crazy. Someone should definitely be going to prison for this.
This has now become worse than just a tragic accident.
It definitely should not of happened. Itâs unnecessary and from the family point of view unacceptable death now.
Alec looks distraught. Really pity him. Must be something awful to live with the rest of your life.
Itâs now becoming a movie within a movie but with a real plot.
Who did itâŚ
Baldwin was one that always struck me as keeping it together by a thread, wouldnât be surprised if he just removes himself completely from the industry and spotlight after this.
Crazy fucking thing to be happening in this day and age, real bullets shouldnât even fit into a prop gun.
This story is getting crazier by the minute.
So from what Iâve been able to piece together online, what seems to have happened is that the armorer for the film was a 24 year old with only one previous movie under her belt - her dad is like the most famous Hollywood armorer ever, but regardless sheâs likely way too young to be head armorer on a movie like this.
Apparently she fired live ammunition through the guns they were using for the filming (maybe for fun or to see that they worked etc.), didnât remove the live ammunition and then left the guns on a cart outside of the church they were filming the scene in. The armorer leaves the guns unattended (big No no!) and the AD runs out and grabs the gun and hands it to Alec (also big no no, itâs the armorer thatâs supposed to always handle the guns and hand them to the actor).
Why the fuck the armorer left the guns unattended, loaded with live ammunition and wasnât there supervising no-one knows yet, but it seems like the armorer and the AD are in for a veritable shit dump as they both breached several serious safety protocols regarding gun handling on set.
EVEN CRAZIER was the fact that union crew members had walked off set due to pay dispute, long hours and (get this) unsafe working conditions due to TWO OTHER misfires on set prior to the fatal one.
What a fucking cluster fuck, holy shit.
Nepotism in Hollywood is for real. Always regretful for me because my Grandpa was a Key Grip for the movie studios back in the 60âs and 70âs, you can still see his name in the credits of shows like Beverly Hill Billies, Green Acres, and Perry Mason. He and my Grandma died before I ever knew them, for sure coulda introduced me into the business and Iâd be doing tv shows and movies right now, then I wouldnât have to be mincing with you fucking losers on OA.
So there are three people who are responsible for this mess. The rookie armorer, the AD and whichever fuckwit decided to hire a rookie armorer.
So many things can go wrong with firearms. Begs the question why have a prop gun thatâs actually a real gun at all? Nowadays with such sophisticated technology et al they shouldnât have to fuck around with real guns.
You see that a lot in curb your enthusiasm.
This is the huge fucking thing for me, youâre opening yourself up to world of hurt with that type of shit, not only could something like this happen but someone could steal the gun from set and use it for a premediated crime, absolute bonkers.
I do wonder if because itâs being shot in Mexico that restrictions are lax and filming is cheap. The fact a prop gun can even fire a real bullet means itâs not a fucking prop gun and therefore basic firearm etiquette should always be applied, ie donât ever point it at a fucking person unless you want to kill them.
Itâs shot in New Mexico, a state of the United States ![]()
Other then that I feel ya mate. Absolute bonkers.
I go shooting every now and then at the local range, and the rules about handling live ammunition are strict as fuck. Because when you donât enforce strict rules, people die.
Ah I must have misread, yeh thatâs even more mental that itâs slipped through the regulations.
Baldwin himself should be here as well, he took charge of a weapon, didnt check it himself/take precautions, and aimed it at other members whilst being on a chaotic set with misfires already happening.
Owned by an Australian (Rupert Murdoch) incidentally.
This Baldwin story is just sad as fuck.
Never good to see a person live with a guilt when they are not at fault.
And the death ofcourse is tragic.
WTF.
This is going to make quite the Netflix Documentary
