Martinelli out and leao in, I’d take it

Did anyone think this was the case?

He is who he is, got about as far as his physical talent and low IQ will take him

No way should he get a new deal

I was recently arguing with someone(can’t recall who) who said we can expect Martinelli & Trossard to be more productive this season

It was and is essential we freshen up that LW position this summer. We all said it towards the end of last season.

Both have served us well but we need that step up in quality from our starter.

Coming across clips of him from 22/23 and it’s outrageous how different he used to play.

He certainly lost pace and he’s nowhere near as brave in his duels or take-ons.

@Truth_hurts you were probably his biggest fan here alongside me. Have you given up yet?

As stated a few posts up, I’m not campaigning for him to be sold, but can see why he could be the player who needs to go if we need to push on. I’d be happy enough to see him moved on provided that we buy somebody obviously more effective.

Can’t see who would buy him though. Bayern were a possibility. Atletico maybe?

Hahah, sorry to make you repeat yourself. I should’ve scrolled up. Yeah, Emile is a good example.
It’s a shame because the trio of Saka, Martinelli and Smith Rowe started this new chapter and now it’s just Saka really.

I saw this the other day and it’s an interesting observation at least.

Arteta will love that trait about him (following instruction to a tee), it does nullify what creativity/ingenuity he does possess.

He’s lost confidence but I think it’s also him just getting found out.

He just doesn’t have the technical ability and variation in his speed to dribble in tighter spaces. He almost never tries to beat his man inside because he can’t do it in a way that keeps the ball close enough that a second defender won’t just tackle him. Everything is one speed and usually yo the byline now.

Forget about Saka. Just compare him to Nwaneri or Dowman for whom it looks like the most natural thing in the world to cut inside onto their left foot and then travel with the ball into a congested box looking to shoot or pass.

Maybe, it was a purple patch? We’ve seen it happen before.

Was he technically better? Nope.

He was like a maverick that was full of spirit and confidence, and opponents did not know how to handle him.

He was found out by other, and injuries were not helping.

Some players just lose that touch after a lil while…

Am ready to give up on Martinelli now. Been hopeful he’ll turn it around as he gets more mature and well rounded as a person, but looks like its just more of the same with him. Have seen enough to suggest he’s lost that edge he had. Very predictable, very muddled in his thinking, nothing more than a hard working player. Not good enough to be a starter at Arsenal.

Exactly my take. I’m never one to hate on one of our own, but the lad has been stagnant for a long fucking time.

Starting to think this is who Martinelli is and the 22/23 season was just a purple patch.

Just another Carlos Vela, but worse in almost every way.

Blink slacking when I beat him to posting an indy update

If there is any truth to this.. then Arteta is making a rod for his own back lol and could cost him his job.

Why would there be any truth to a tweet posted by that bozo?

What would make anyone believe this guy is privy to conversations happening at the very highest level of Arsenal’s management structure
