Gabriel Martinelli (11)

i think gabi is still in plans of Arteta even if we buy a LW

I’ve never felt that Arteta was a fan of Martinelli - especially in the early days. Think if the opportunity arises, he’d move him on without much thought.

Not enough. Just splash 100m you cunts.

He’s not gonna want to go there anyway so its irrelevant.

If this lets us get Rodrygo, Eze and Madueke we have to get it done

Do a year out there and then get a move back to Europe like many of them seem to be doing

He’s worth more than 73m. Elanga is going for 55m ffs

Just don’t think he’ll be interested in it.

You say that as if Martinelli is better than Elanga

Better? No. Miles better - yes!

Sell the guy! Finally some proper money for our lot.

If these links are real, then we definitely need to sign 3 attackers.

Would prefer Trossard left instead but £70-80 for Martinelli is good!!

Fuck knows what Arteta sees in him, but he certainly doesn’t contribute to the value of a Ā£73m player.

If we do sell Martinelli for around 70m, let’s hope Arteta doesn’t waste it on yet another Chelsea reject like Madueke, which is what he did the last time he spent that amount, when we signed Havertz.

His obsession with GK’s and Chelsea rejects is becoming ridiculous.
Someone needs to tell Arteta that we’ve been desperate for attacking quality for several seasons and that GK’s don’t score many goals and that players from other clubs, other than Chelsea, are also available.

He’s not obsessed with keepers. He’s signed two first team keepers in his tenure, both of whom were an upgrade on what we already had, and then a series of backups for nominal fees. I don’t give a shit if we have a rotating cast of back ups keepers, nobody should, it doesn’t impact any of our other business and has a negligible effect on onfield matters because they so rarely play.

We know that Berta uses the press more to put out links to players as part of a negotiation strategy so we need to get used to this. Unlike Eze and Rodrygo, the Madueke link doesn’t appear that concrete atm.

For that sort of money, we should really consider it, but I doubt Gabi will want to go, especially since it’s a World Cup year. But then if we are looking to bring someone to play ahead of him, then his chances of making the Brazil squad will diminish anyway.

In an ideal world, if we get someone to start ahead of Martinelli, that might just bring out the best in him but that’s probably me clinging on to hope more than anything.

Is this another way of saying Martinelli rejected them?
