Gabriel Martinelli (11)

It does make sense. We brought Nketiah back, maybe Arteta feels Eddie is a better first-team option, at the moment. So Martinelli’s playing time will be limited, meaning a loan would be good.

Lol, no way known is Eddie a better first team option.

I feel like this would be an incredibly odd way of thinking.

If Martinelli is going back to Brazil, the only explanation is that he’s sick of the English culture and homesick.

The pre-Olympic tournament is currently being held in Columbia (18 jan - 9 feb). This is what is being referenced.

But Martinelli was withdrawn from that u23 squad in December.

Eddie has got nothing over Martenelli. In fact from Martenelli point of view this would be a perfect time to come in. Low expectations on the season but he’s not phased. Give everyone a lift and someone to get behind.

While I would understand him wanting to go back for a youth tournament would it really be better for his development than 4 months here under Arteta.

Martinelli has been a pretty key figure in our season so far, seems like a pretty nuts decision even with Nketiah back in the team.

Nketiah is just a Fox-in-the-box super-sub, Martinelli brings a lot more to the team.

Martinelli is basically better at every single facet of the game than Eddie, even a championship side had no real use for Eddie this season.

There should be absolutely no debate on who is better atm and I wouldn’t blame anyone if they firmly state that Martinelli will have a better career than Nketiah

To be fair to him Bielsa is rigid as hell and only plays one up top.

He would’ve had a hell of a lot more games at Bristol for example, goes without saying that Martinelli is the the superior talent though.

A Championship side who are in desperate need of an attacking threat too. They have one forward – and he is a little bit shit.

I was going to post earlier today about how we should show a bit of restraint and not hype him up too early but fuck that!!! He’s a young king in the making.

Got lucky with that massive rapist touch, and then more luck when Kante slipped.

But incredible pace, stamina and composure to bury the chance. Felt so confident he would finish it. My boy Aguero MK II
