Can you buy the other two, too?

The Premier League has written to its clubs to make clear there can be no exemptions for new signings arriving into the UK and they must follow the government guidance when travelling from countries which the British state has imposed quarantine travel measures. This includes France, Belgium and Holland, in addition to Spain.

As such, any players signed from clubs in those countries would be required to self-isolate for 14 days before becoming eligible to train or play for their new clubs. In addition, should clubs from other countries spend time for pre-season in any territory under British quarantine rules, their players would also be forced to isolate upon arriving in the UK.

Arsenal are, for example, attempting to sign defender Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille, who would be subject to a 14-day quarantine upon arriving into London and would therefore be unlikely to make the season curtain-raiser at Fulham.

Yeah let’s speed these up, boys… we have even more than the usual dithering and delays per AFC.

Fortunately we’re stacked at CB so no need to rush him

Wait why do they have to be quarantined for 14 days? Isn’t the EPL and the rest of football essentially founded on the notion of using Corona testing kits faster than they can be produced.

If they are tested and are clear, surely that would mitigate the need to quarantine?

I feel like I’m missing something here

Probably depends on who tested, when and where, etc…

I’d imagine there should be some tacit agreement between leagues, but maybe EPL taking hard-line and want to control it all themselves…

They are saying it can take 14 days to show any symptoms

Yeh for normal peasants like us who don’t have access to weekly tests. Surely Arsenal’s med team will test him the minute he gets off the flight negating the need to isolate himself should he be virus free.
