Gabriel Jesus (9)

Like Alvarez at City? That could actually be immense.

We can all fantasize about what this guy is capable of but we all know he’s a chronic sick note.

Ship has sailed for him, and most likely for Martinelli, but some are still dreaming.

Squad options, both of them and given Jesus’ wage, his exit over the next 10 months is inevitable. Such a shame, seems like a smashing bloke and showed so much promise for half a season. Our story would have been different if Brazil hadn’t broken him in the world cup.

He was starting to bang them in as well he was hitting a golden streak and then of bloody course :santi: :charlie:

The thing that’s kinda sad about the Jesus 2.0 injury is the way it happened. That extreme extension before the leap snapped his shit up.

Like, what is my man even doing here lol? The human body is strong, but it’s not indestructible my guy…

Think this is a good breakdown btw.

Hurry back

…To get injured again

when is he supposed to be back ?

Easter.

Sorry! He’s doing light training now, I believe even a bit of ball work. I’d guess a couple of months.

It feels like a nice luxury to be able to ease him back into match fitness this time, rather than utter desperation to have anyone play up top.

I just assume we’ll get nothing of value from Jesus, that way I won’t be disappointed and anything we do get is a welcome bonus.

Yeah I’ve fallen into the trap of being cautiously optimistic about him becoming a super sub or excellent squad player who can come in at various vital points of the season and make a difference but I just know I’ll be let down

Will he be pleased with his status in the team too? We’ve now got a pairing of Kai/Gyokkers, who will both tie up a lot of minutes.

A sad situation but maybe a mutual agreement (with a fee and a packet of biscuits) to part ways is in the offing for him.

It doesn’t matter how good a player is, if they can’t be relied on to be fit then sell them.

After this window Jesus dropped down the list of attacking options we have, so considering the wages he’s on, it’s probably best to move him on.

Agreed. I’m not really interested in seeing him in an Arsenal kit again. No offense to him. He did very well and helped us get to this stage.

I’d rather get something of a fee and not risk him getting injured again.

I think he’ll go next summer, we’ll give him some cup games. If we sell him in January his value will be negliable, Ā£15m at best. If he comes back in time to give others a rest and bangs in a few during out title run-in we’ll be able to get Ā£25-30m in the Summer.

There’s not much risk in having an additional forward for the second, busier half of the season. Never forget it was a squad player, Wiltord, who won us the title at Old Trafford.
