Gabriel Jesus (9)

Could be a big blow for our Jesus hopes.
I think if we get Jesus, Sterling stays. If they get Sterling, Jesus stays.
Regardless if they risk running either one’s deal down.
Unless of course City have another forward lined up.

Last thing Chelsea need is another quick forward who can’t finish.

I think Sterling runs his deal down and leaves on a free next summer.

I think they need someone like him tbh

It’s possible that he’s on the slide but it’s also possible he needs a new challenge and change of scenery, none of the guys they have offer what he does in terms of running in behind and they just aren’t his caliber in general, he isn’t a great finisher but he’s capable of posting up numbers regardless.

They need to shift the likes or Pulisic, Ziyech etc they all aren’t good enough

He’s been really shit. Didn’t they pay close to €70m for him?

Agree on Pulisic and Ziyech. But Werner and Havertz are both very quick and good at getting behind the defense.

If Chelsea buy a forward, I just can’t see Sterling being the guy they target.

Neither of them are proper wide players though, both more suited to a 2nd striker role and either one or both may turn out to be busts

Sterling potentially gives them something they haven’t had since Hazard; a genuine wide player of real quality. Sterling would be a marquee signing even at the rate he’d cost

@Bl1nk: yeah something like that and non only is he incredibly inconsistent he’s also a constant sick note, been a really poor signing.

The wing backs are the wide players in that system though.

I’m interested to see what happens with Pulisic. They should sell him on footballing grounds. But I wonder whether the new American owners see him as a key marketing asset.

I said Ziyech would flop

Chelsea’ wide options are so underwhelming. Ziyech, Pulisic, CHO, Werner and I feel like I’ve forgotten somebody. Sterling brings them up a level.

And that system won’t win them the league IMO especially when said players aren’t the most robust or been unlucky with severe injuries

Tuchel should adapt or the attack will continue to misfire, they could keep Pulisic but he isn’t taking them anywhere and like you said it won’t be for footballing reeasons that he stays.

@SRCJJ: Ziyech has one move in his bag: cross and pray.

As someone who watches him a lot because of national team importance, he’s been both a disappointment and set up to fail.

He was overpriced and brought in right after Hazard left. Even though Hazard was a fraud he was still extremely important to Chelsea.

There’s also this weird perception that he’s a head down runner/hard worker which I think is a bit of a lazy stereotype because he’s American. For me, he’s a total luxury player who needs things built around him.

And Chelsea were never going to build around him.

Throw in his injury issues and you’ve got a totally underwhelming tenure.

He’s still a very good player but people said at the time Chelsea was the wrong move.

That’s a fake picture. It has Tierney at LB

Wow whats gotten into you? Pretty sure you were one of the biggest tierney fans on here like 12 months ago.

He’s a shattered man that Tierney wasn’t available for Scotland and they’ve failed to qualify for the World Cup finals.

Ahh yeah. Quite interesting how a lot of hopes for Arsenal usually hinge on our best starting xi being available every second of every match in order for us to get good results. It will never happen and it doesnt happen for any team in the world. Just more excuses.

I erased memory of that Man City game with Willian up front and now you bring those memories back. Thanks.
