Francis Coquelin

Him and Santi were actually quite good together in midfield.

He could go from flaccid to erect in a moment’s notice.

We really needed them to star in a buddy cop movie.

This guy sucked. Wenger really Cazorla this to work with.

Still somehow won the Europa League when we couldn’t do it. :santi:

I prefer not to think about that final. Proper shitting the bed it was.

Yeah the number of accolades that players who left us have won is really not a great reflection on us lol

Except the obvious like RvP, Fabregas. Which players in particular because many of them contributed to us being mediocre.

I don’t know where the line is for the obvious shouts like RvP and Fabregas. But a few players who also won big honours elsewhere were Szczesny, Gnabry, Giroud, Oxlade Chamberlain and Ramsey, who all won major league titles and/or the Champions League.

That they contributed to our mediocre era (save Gnabry) makes it sting a little bit that they managed to win some major stuff later, for me anyway.

I suppose the idea that it ā€˜stings’ is what I find contentious, all of those players joined winning teams (Except Ox but he didn’t do shite to make them better). Who had their star players, spines, etc all sorted. Some of them weren’t even starters (Which I suppose you have to say we had the wrong read in making them first teamers here). To quote Charles Barkley: ā€˜All these bus riders, they don’t mean nothing to me’.

Don’t forget Nasri, Clichy and Sagna, and I’m sure there are others

Don’t disagree, Szczesny and Gnabry aside, they weren’t starters or particularly important to their sides. I guess partly where it stings a bit for me is that it shows they were good enough to be part of squads that won big things, but that we made them key parts of our starting line ups for too long, because like you say, we had the wrong read there.

I did wanna bold the ā€œlittle bitā€ cos I wasn’t too bothered to see Ramsey win a Serie A, for example. Giroud is probably the one that really bothered me. Cos its Chelsea and cos in the case of the Europa League, they beat us in the final and the fucker even scored. Was really shit to then see him win a fucking CL on top of that.

Nasri and Clichy I assumed to be obvious ones Rocky referred to, so left em out to only focus on players that came later. Sagna only won a league cup at City so I wasn’t including him for that, couldn’t give less of a shit about that one really.

Well he would say that wouldn’t he? He didn’t win anything.

Did Santi and Coquelin play together at Villarreal?

Sure but I think he’s spot on. Which is why I don’t care about the scrubs winning things. When they had the important spots in this team we saw what they were good for.

The only two that really sting are Giroud (because he was a dickhead about it after) and Fabregas.
