Was he? I know he got the 5 seconds penalty for it, but it didnāt really feel like he could do anything about it as he was next to Hamilton who cut him off in that corner (and no, Iām not a hardcore Max fan, I like that he won the championship but are generally not really interested in F1).

Tbf a lot of the deficit clawback came from Ferrari running a dodgy floor which got outlawed half way through.
But for sure once Mercedesā stopped trying to figure out why there car was bouncing like a crackhead theyāve made good gains.

I lost interest in the season a long time ago, thanks to Ferrariās non-stop cock ups. On to the next one then. I can only hope we get a more competitive season next year, and that would need the resurgence of Mercedes (as much as I would hate to see that) cause Ferrari canāt be trusted to get things right.
As for Max, heās going along the Mbappe route. Might win a lot but will probably not be respected or liked, outside of Holland.
I remember that incident and remember thinking Ocon is too nice to be in F1. And Max probably knew that, which is why he kept shoving him over and over.

And agree with you about Vettel. I think he has matured well, but even when he was constantly winning there wasnāt an arrogance or an attitude with him, like we now have with Max.
Such an impressive team to pull this back by the end of the season. They will be super motivated next season and just hope they can give Lewis a car that gives him a crack at the Championship.
