He’s obviously capable but has mentality problems. If he could peform like that, or close to that regularly, he’d be a valuable asset to the team.
Really? I thought his issue was fitness. He arrived injured last season, has been hurt again this season.
Am I gonna have to get the list out again?
Also our ‘flops’ have a combined cost of about 30m including Lokonga at half that. Taking a punt at low cost shouldn’t be used against a manager.
Fabio isn’t a flop and Havertz is the only one who could really end up an expensive flop.
How else would you explain an 8/10 cameo whereas all his other performances have left a lot to be desired. For me, he felt up for it that day for whatever reason and performed to the level we expect of him. Has to be a confidence thing because he clearly has ability.
I think you can call Fabio a flop but the narrative @SuperArsenal1886 is pushing is a reach.
Arteta clearly has a say on the transfers, but it’s clear that there are moves that he isn’t particularly involved.
For example, he’s gone on record to saying Tavares wasn’t his signing. He gave credit(which can now become blame) to the scouting team and Edu.
Does anyone really think Arteta signed Marquinhos?
Your best bet when evaluating his recruitment is on big signings imo and he’s got way more right than wrong, and even the wrong ones could very well turn it around.

I guess I’d probably look at variables like the opposition, who he was paired with in midfield, if we had other injuries, if we went behind early and had to chase the match for 85 minutes.
Not saying he’s done great here but I really never understood people calling out a player’s mentality when it just amounts to armchair psychological analysis of stuff like body language.

I find it hard to call him a flop when he’s played less minutes since signing than Kai Havertz. That’s for context not a knock on Kai.
Now people may say that is the problem in itself and fair enough, but that’s nothing to do with talent ID yet again. It’s robustness and unfortunate he’s been injured quite a lot. I don’t think he was expected to make a big impact last season anyway.
Well, unavailability can certainly lead to someone beit a flop imo.
I do agree that has nothing to do with talent ID though.
We worked so hard to ship out all the deadwood to somehow end up with fresh set of deadwoods.
fucking penile enlargement won’t even need that long to recover and perform.

Is this the voice of experience?
wish I have the courage to do it… seriously.
what if the surgery failed?? it is more shitter than having a failed breast augmentation.
Forgot to mention it, we got an update on him finally in the pre-match presser.
Arteta said he’s trained a few times with the boys and has had a better progress than expected.
He was asked if it’s likely to play against Porto and he said yes.
Not sure if he meant that for the first leg or second leg.
Excellent news!
Waste of a jersey lets be honest
Be good to sell him and get someone who doesn’t look like a strong gust of wind knocks him over
Lets buy Antonio and Adam Traore then.
No let’s not
He’s decent player. Wouldn’t give up on him just yet. Both he and ESR can play a crucial part in run-in. Odegaard and Havertz can’t play every game.
For where this club wants to get to, Vieira isn’t good enough. Move him on in the summer and let’s bring another quality midfielder in. Hopefully not one with aa much strength as wet tussue and able to impose himself on games.
Maybe he can give Odegaard a rest for the last 25 minutes before Champions League games.
