so does this pave the way for mancity to have a ‘punishment’ and then repeal it to get half of it taken off? (that is if the sportswashing scumbag team even gets punished)

I don’t know that would really be the rationale. Wasn’t one of the reasons for reducing the points deduction amount that Everton did cooperate? Can’t really see City being able to ride that wave.

Body blow for Luton, they suffered a heavy defeat on a night they didn’t play.

Everton are going to get another points deduction in April (unless there’s new mitigating factors we don’t yet know about) and same with Forest, they just need to ride the coat tails.

Is there truth in Leicester, Leeds and Burnley suing Everton and that could lead to points being docked, too?

They can seek damages to be awarded by the commission (or settled independently). But if anything happens on that it will be paid in $ not points.

This sounds bad.

I’ve heard 777 are diabolical and one of the worst owners you could ask for.

Remember how when things were bad under KSE and people would say “Oh look at all their teams, Arsenal, the Nuggets, the Rapids, the Rams, they’re all middling mediocre teams etc.” 777 are like that on steroids. They’ve got fingers in a lot of pies and all the pies are full of shit.

Beyond that, it appears that their entire company is a ponzi scheme.

Assume this means more points deducted next season too if they go into administration?

More importantly maybe we could take a run at that Braithwate guy.

In the article it suggests they could do it this season. It’s an immediate 9 point deduction so obviously that’d only happen if they then would still be safe. Would be quite something to geg deducted 15 points and survive.

I’d be down for that. Branthwaite should be on our list of transfer targets and a fire sell at Everton would help lol

They are currently 11 points ahead of Luton, so if results go their way, they could take the hit this season. That said, I really don’t want us going into the last match of the season with Everton needing anything out of the match to stay up. Much prefer them to take the hit next season and give the promoted teams a chance!

Branthwaite is contracted until 2027. No way they will let him go on the cheap.

If they go into administration I can’t imagine they’d be in a position to dictate terms. We might face competition from other clubs in England, but you’d think they’d be forced to sell some of their decent players or prospects.

Portsmouth were financially fucked for while and still sold some of their players for good money, Glen Johnson went for ÂŁ17m post-administration (Somehow), Defoe and Lassana Diarra was sold the season before that and there was some knowledge they were in a financial hole.

Was that when he went to Liverpool while they were under Hicks and Gillette? Not real shrewd football stewards. But I take your point. We’d have to put up cash but it would likely be less than they would have wanted.
