Everton - Arsenal (PL) 0-1

Hope Martinelli is ok soon, muscular injuries with no contact beforehand can be tricky and lenghty.

We were so unfortunate here.
Eddie was moving towards our goal anyway. Being barely offside just made if more difficult to get to that ball.

And Martinelli gets injured on top of that.
:xhaka:

Shit game already

City player interfering with the keeper doesn’t get offside the other week, but a side pass intended for a defender that gets intercepted and as a result puts finds our striker is flagged off. Prem refs are absolutely clueless wankers.

How could a player blocking an attempted pass be deemed to do anything other than intentionally playing the ball :man_shrugging:

Saliba vs Beto = Man vs Boy.

If there’s an offside infringement, it’s from Martinelli off the Vieira pass but only going by my eye

Arsenal have dominated so far

Only for Everton to score one niw

Whats the point of VAR if it does more harm than good ffs

That was a blatent dive but of course no yellow

Doucoure should have been booked for that stupid dive.

no this is the exact reason for that rule. otherwise you leave a guy 30y offside and when you win the ball you just try to hit it so that it graces an opponent before going to your offside guy. and the opposing player needs to be allowed to try and block it. if it goes to your offside player it isn’t intentional

You’re talking about a player kicking the ball off an opposition player. Thats not what happened. Tough shit if your block backfires. Do a better block.

well we agree on what the rule should be

They’ll say it’s not deliberate play as Beto wasn’t in control of the touch.

Zinchenko has been terrible so far.

Wrong process but potentially the right decision, but it’s close

Yep annoying me today

This ref is utter shit

Shame about the offside, but we should get over it and get the points. We haven’t offered too much so far, surely there’s more in our locker.

A decent, balanced performance overall.
