Thought it was gonna be 60-40. Not had at all as a win. Le Pen barely got a third.
Good lad Macron. Not perfect but he was by far the hest choice in this second round.
Hopefully some reforms will begin happening, both in France and the EU.

Not my best candidate, but you couldnât just vote for Le Pen. Letâs see if Macronâs strong europeism is gonna change the Europe for the better.

Ufff. Worrying night indeed. Germany is a country that has seen sharp economic growth in the past 10+years voting about 15% for the AFD. This and the SPD not going into coalition with Merkel should worry us in EuropeâŚ

Ukraine has a leader that was elected after playing a teacher that becomes president (or whatever it is Ukraine has) on a surprisingly watchable TV show. I bet their elections are brilliant.

It wonât translate to equal number of seats. SF are running 42 candidates and FF twice that so with transfers and the way constituencies work itâs likey FF will probably bring in 60+ seats awith SF getting 30 if they are lucky. SF is hugely Dublin based in terms of where they are strongest with a few boarder regions being good for them too.

Almost all seats will be known by this evening I would say, lots of constituencies entering their final count now.
Iâm actually in Edinburgh and following it from afar has been an interesting experience. Really really difficult to know what happens from here. Itâs kind of in nobodies interest to actually go into government with these results which is an absolutely mental outcome!
