Ethan Nwaneri (Loan: OM)

Not even necessarily start him, but why not giving him the same minutes in some other context, while we actually look good and have a positive result, not when the team looks dead and we expext him to save us.

Not saying it was wrong to bring him yesterday, on the contrary, I’d just highligt again how poor we looked and it’s totally wrong to say kid who hasn’t play a full game before with this team looked out of his depth when the the whole team looked out of their depth yesterday.

It might actually be a good thing that he came on during a game where we were struggling. He’s not going to be playing Goldilocks football all the time.

Just don’t do it very often.

The fact that I was surprised Arteta made him a sub at 60 minutes rather than later in the game means that it’s not simply an Arteta thing.

It’s a good reflection of the situation.

Either way, he’s being developed by the club and I think what’s more telling is that Arteta wants to keep him close to the team to use him in the opportunities he has earned so far this season. I can’t imagine Ethan, not Myles to be loaned out to another team now. Rather they are on a path to the first team and it will likely take as long as it takes for them to break into it.

More like it kid.

The year is 2028 and @Darkseid has just made his 50th post complaining about Nwaneri being overplayed

He tried to score the same goal he scored against Preston and was easily bitched and then caught main character syndrome and wasted possession with a ridiculous “shot” with one of our last attacks.

What he should have done there? I don’t think a pass was on, he had an opening to shoot, it was an awful shot but he still looked far more useful than against Newcastle.

Jesus was open in the middle for the reverse pass. Probs would’ve tripped over the ball but he was definitely open.

Wilshere would’ve found him.

Held the ball up, gone back, made sure we kept possession.

Two appearances where he’s not looked ready for the top level just yet now.

Someone’s missing smith rowe :joy:

I mean, if I were, that shot would have helped relive the glory days :joy:

He took a shot, at least. That was going to be the only way to score tonight instead of crossing EVERY fucking ball into the box where every Inter defender won the ball. Fuck me, if crossing into the box doesn’t work in the first half a dozen attempts, then don’t try it another 40 fucking times. Fucking brain dead coaching.

Aye, we don’t have many that go for it outside of the box tbf to the kid

That’ll be drummed out of him, don’t you worry

You sound so desperate.

That little moment is what we have been missing for a while. Being able to receive the ball in the pocket and actually turn and create chaos centrally instead of playing the ball back which has been an on-going pattern.

Our offensive play before that was very rigid and predictable with crosses from right hand side. We need innovation and Ethan offered that, unlike Trossard.

So is this going to be the core discussion this season. Arsenal slipping up + Nwaneri the saviour anytime things aren’t going well?

Im bored. Press fast forward on the remote.

Whoever pointed it yesterday. You were right, Inter lost Jesus there and the pass was on.
Definitely not an easy pass but you’d expect a player of his talent to spot the run and attempt the pass.

That move looked good.
I even liked the strike, generated a lot of power.

What pass to Jesus btw lol? There’s no space for that pass, he made the right decision. Jesus wasn’t open there at all.
