Ethan Nwaneri (53)

so the idea at the time for playing Ethan was if he didnt re sign/sign his new contract as time was running low he would command a much higher fee due as Man City/United and Pool were keeping a close eye… but yes he has always been a clear talent and like Patino they are future Stars for us potentiality…so for me its like Saliba, sometimes time is good for developing and not the heavy spotlight so soon

Three tap ins, nice. More impressed by the assists.

Anyone who wants any player to fail here isn’t an Arsenal fan.

If his name wasn’t Havertz, his performances would probably be praised as well.

2 goals in preseason from LCM, was a game changer against City. Did quite well against Forest and helped us manage that panic after Forest scored.

He’s a massive L for Edu and Arteta.

It took Bergkamp seven games to bag his first goal for the club. Imagine the flack he would get if that was today.
I’m not suggesting Kai is his level, but both were underwhelming, playing for big clubs prior to their move to The Arsenal.

It is plausible and fully legal for both Havertz and Nwaneri to succeed here.

I think in the shorter term Nwaneri’s most likely route into the first team is as Saka’s backup.

How can you have such a definitive assessment of him when he hasn’t played more than one competitive game?

Of Haavertz? or Nwaneri?

Havertz

I saw him play for Chelsea, and I thought he was shit then, and I see nothing that changes that.

If I’m wrong then you can hand me a knife and fork, and I will eat that humble pie with gusto

Do you not think he offered us something else against City in Community Shield with his presence? Same against Forest.
It’s a small sample size but I think he’s showing a lot of promise and his versatility is definitely comes handy.

I do think we could have bought quite a few players(Gabri Veiga, Maddison etc.) ahead of Havertz.
Apart from his height utility, I am not completely sure what he brings on the ball.

“Ethan Nwaneri understands dangerous angles”

Man these twitter folk are such goobers. Guy probably just sees a team mate and tries to pass to him and does it successfully, not some esoteric “dangerous angles” garbage.

And is it just me who think Nwaneri’s version was a simple cross, compared to Messi’s (who was more or less in the midfield).

Don’t say that on Twitter, some knuckle dragger will tell you you don’t “know ball” :joy:
