Ethan Nwaneri (53)

I would never do such a thing.

This guy is gonna make it. I mean there can’t be a bigger atmosphere than us going to their toilet bowl and it could be tough for a youngster. He came on though and didnt look out of place, didnt look nervous and he played some tidy stuff and kept things ticking without doing anything risky. Obviously he has a lot of growing to do but i am sure we will see more and more of what he can do as time goes on.

For fucks sake. He played ten minutes :joy:

But was better than Trossard who did fuck all for 75 minutes

We’re soon upon the ā€˜We need to sell this guy to not kill his career’ Wenger style at this rate.

Trossard has come up with crucial goals on several occasions. Nwaneri has done literally nothing yet. People’s confirmation bias with this kid is insane.

This is a massive overration mate lol. Fabregas literally started spraying 60 yard balls from day one. Nwaneri looked very nervous (understandbly so) and really didn’t do that much. The two cannot be compared.

Some obvious talent there but I never get excited about young talents.

What about Lamal at Barca?

Them kind of kids are the exceptions because they’re generational talents producing at a high level in a high pressure environment and winning trophies.

Plus he’s half Moroccan so he’s extra spectacular.

Shame he didn’t pick Morocco

Would have been amazing to have Ziyech, Lamal, Brahim Diaz in the same attacking lineup.

It was only 15 minutes, but there was a ridiculous amount of calmness and composure on display. He’s good enough to play first team games for us.

gradually put him in the rotation… no need to rush him.

After City we play four straight at home prior to the next international break:

Bolton
Leicester
PSG
Southhampton

He’s going to start the Bolton match for sure. Assuming that goes OK, one reasonable way to integrate him would be to start him in one of the home PL matches against relegation fodder as well.

If he isn’t in contention against those opponents at home while Odegaard is hurt then he’s never going to start a PL match.

He probably has a solid 4 years after these games to get a start before I’d give up on him tbh

I think he’s got a good chance of starting against Bolton but I wouldn’t say it’s a given. Doubt very much he’ll get a PL or CL start at this stage.

Put Leicester/Southampton to the sword in the first 60 minutes, rest Saka and give the kid 30 minutes to show his game. Can also use him in later CL games if we qualify early.
