You think so? AMN is doing a good job in France I don’t see that MLS is significantly more talented than him

Damn, you really rated AMN like that?

I was a fan lol but he’s doing a really good job at Lyon now.

Him and MLS both have that calm and composed nature you can’t teach that

Arteta could have used AMN a bit more. I remember we went a whole half a season without giving him any meaningful minutes. If he had given him games here and there, he would have been in the squad right now imo as a backup fullback and a midfielder.

AMN was the goat at penalties for us iirc, and whilst he’s had a few good games for us, I don’t recall him putting in a performance that was as good or better than what MLS did vs. Spurs.

Xhaka, AMN and Iwobi as a midfield three is the stuff of nightmares lol

Always disliked AMN, maybe irrationally so in the end but felt he was just a bit of a cock who didn’t work hard enough to establish himself in a position.

Seemed to always want to play midfield despite not having the talent for it at the top level and didn’t make the full back spot his own when we had poor competition for places.

Great pens but a player who rubbed me the wrong way (oi oi :eyes:) and I’ve never looked back.

AMM’s cool and composed nature often worked to his detriment. He could be lackadaisical in possession and wasn’t press-resistant either. MLS is a bigger talent than AMN.

I liked AMN but he was (understandably) very hot and cold in performances. Something MLS is clearing (so far) easily. Not all his fault though bigger issue is we never found a proper role for him either. He played in all sorts of positions and MLS is coming through in a quite frankly a much much better and much more stable team.

Not sure what all the fuss is suddenly about AMN. He had a couple of decent performances for us but was no where near the level required to get into the team, and that was back then. Pleased he is doing well, but not in the same league as Saka, Nwaneri, or MSL, or even ESR for that matter IMO.

Agreed. There’s a lot of revisionism regarding ex-players. Everyone bar Auba (before he was trash), Saka, Gabriel and Martinez was crusty AF imho.

A balanced, well thought out view as always.
